Microsoft is giving some gamers the chance to get the New Xbox Experience early. How, you ask? Take it away Major:Working with various teams across Xbox, we’ve developed a program to allow a select few of you early access to NXE. How do you get chosen? The first step is to head on over to Microsoft Connect (https://connect.microsoft.com/InvitationUse.aspx?ProgramID=2631&InvitationID=XBOX-G37M-QYWQ&SiteID=719), sign in with your Windows LIVE ID and join the "Xbox 360 Fall 2008 Preview Program" by clicking on this link, https://connect.microsoft.com/InvitationUse.aspx?ProgramID=2631&InvitationID=XBOX-G37M-QYWQ&SiteID=719.

Once you do that, you need to fill out the "Xbox 360 Fall Flash Preview Sign Up" survey in order to be considered for receiving the Preview System Update. We're asking a few questions about where you live, your home network, ISP connection and a few other pieces of information. We are looking for a good cross-section of our members in order to get the best feedback we can. Both Gold and Silver members are eligible, although Gold members will be given preference. Be ready with your Xbox system ID when you sign up.

What is funny is one of the questions is if you are a Netflix subscriber or not. Plus Gamerscore Blog's weekly NXE feature (http://gamerscoreblog.com/team/archive/2008/10/24/562028.aspx) was on Netflix integration today.

They also say any thing in your queue that has instant watch capability will be able to be watched on Xbox Live Nov. 19th (only in the U.S.).

I'll wait till these guys risk bricking their consoles first, then get it when it goes into wide release. Unless MS QC recently stepped up and no one told me.

This is the full NXE. While some content may be missing (market place items, some pages may have place holder graphics) - functionality wise it'll be feature complete. That includes Netflix.

For anyone who would like to sign up, and ran into the same problem I did regarding an infinite loading page that wasn't really active:
Go through the site using Internet Explorer rather than another browser. This got me through speedily, rather than it bugging out and not even letting me sign in when I tried using Chrome.

If you're a Netflix subscriber you shouldn't have to pay anything to watch on the 360. Don't know about non-subscribers.

As I understand it...no. So long as you are a GOLD subscriber to XBL and a subscriber to Netflix, you should be good to go.

HOWEVER, there is some speculation here. Wording on this seems to indicate that you can only watch movies in your queue that are the "ready to watch" type.

In other words, you don't get to browse their selection. You get to browse your queue and if any can be streamed, you can watch those. None in there? Then go to the netflix site and add some that can be streamed.

Keep in mind, that's speculation and hasn't been made very clear yet.

Both Gold and Silver members are eligible, although Gold members will be given preference.

In other words, if there are a set number of people that will be allowed to get it, there's no chance in hell you'll get it with silver.

It's not supposed to be. It specifically says "This opportunity is open to all Xbox LIVE Members in regions where Xbox LIVE is available".
