Here are the software and hardware numbers from Japan, straight from Media Create (http://www.m-create.com/ranking/), for the week 03-29 to 04-04.
The third game in fan favorite series Etrian Odyssey, Visitor from Star Ocean, made the number one spot last week, selling 87,765 copies. The PS2 had a rare game in the top 10 with Pro Baseball Spirits 2010 at number 10. The PS3 and PSP versions were at 3 and 4. In the hardware chart, the DS was back to outselling the PSP but the PS3 still managed to stay ahead of the Wii.
The PS3 and 360 ports of No More Heroes will be released in Japan on April 15 and they were warmly received by Famitsu, with scores of 9/8/8/8. From 1UP (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3178685):
The game is largely unchanged from the Wii original, save for improved graphics and a new Japanese-language voice dub (the Wii version had English voices only, even in Japan). "The graphics have gotten prettier, and the Japanese voices let you enjoy the unique story on a whole new level," one editor said. "It's not a dramatic change, but the HD shift makes a difference." Another agreed: "The Japanese dub doesn't feel stilted at all, and the voice cast really gives the game a new sort of charm."
Remarkably little was said about the brand-new control scheme, which "has its advantages and disadvantages; some people will like it while others won't." Instead, the brunt of the reviewers' complaints was pointed toward load times, which have apparently taken a hit on both ports. "Unlike the Wii version, the load times are pretty long, which makes things stressful," one said. "It's a shame considering how much easier the game is to play now."
Hori has announced what must be one of the least useful console accessories, with a portable LCD screen (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3178694) planned for the not so portable PS3 Slim. It will be released on May 27 for 26,040 yen.
