My favorite band is the White Stripes. My favorite songs from them are Hotel Yorba, Screwdriver, Apple Blossom, and Martyr For My Love For You.

Between The Buried and Me or This Is Hell.

...or Trap Them, Shipwreck, Have Heart, Poison The Well, Every Time I Die, etc, etc. :p]

Ouch. I hate that question mostly because I like a lot of bands equally, just not for the same reasons. Off the top of my head would be Queen (for sheer rockingness) Pink Floyd (Mellow, and always helps me relax...and not THAT way, dammit ;)) Daft Punk (I really like their style), and Johann Sebastian Bach (Power organ classical...I love it).

I'm a soundtrack guy myself so I don't listen to a whole lot of "bands".

I'd say right now I really like The Killers. That's if I limited it to current bands...otherwise I'd go old school and pick Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd.

It's hard for me to decide between Alice In Chains, Mr. Bungle, and Tool.

My favorites from each band:
Whale and Wasp - Alice In Chains

Pink Cigarette - Mr. Bungle

Opiate - Tool

Always a difficult call for me, but if I have to choose just one it is Hot Water Music, closely followed by Thin Lizzy. I know that isn't one, but like I said, it is difficult.

I also have a Pennywise tattoo.

It switches, you see. Mostly between those three.

My favorite band is the White Stripes.

I also enjoy the White Stripes. I'm glad to see other people (you and pom-poms) like them, too, because I honestly don't know that many people who like them as much as I do.

Anyway, I don't have one favorite band. I have a few.

Radiohead, Muse, White Stripes, Foo Fighters, The Mars Volta, Gorillaz, Pixies. I used to like Weezer a lot, too, but I don't like their last two albums.

Beck's kind of a one-man band, so I don't think he really counts, but he's also a favorite.

Bad religion

But Judas Priest's Painkiller is my favorite album ever. I don't really like their other stuff. I love that specific metal sound.

Mine would be Zepp or Floyd. They may not get as much listening time lately but are still my top overall picks.

Right, I go through phases, but I can always come back to those two and never get bored it them.

Completely different side of the spectrum, but I think one of my favorite albums is Enter the 36 Chambers. I got that shit when I was like 11 and it blew my mind haha. Little white kid from the suburbs and Wu-Tang just infected me. Love it.

Thanks for making me realize I hardly listen to any bands, mostly just solo artists. ANYWAY, my favorite band is Chambao. I saw them in concert this summer for FREE!!

I think their best 'gateway' song, if you don't know of them already, would be this:

"Pokito a poko" (little by little).

Hahahaha, oh god, that's awesome! I actually do also enjoy Daft Punk and Cake, but I haven't really listened to Against Me! very much. Oh wow, I just did a quick search on them right now and learned that they're touring with Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, whom I also like!!!

(This is ridiculous. It's not like I like everyone I listen to... this is a crazy coincidence!)

I love Against Me!s earlier works. Their newest one doesn't do a whole lot for me. I saw them at Warped Tour a couple years back and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. I suggest checking them out live if you ever get the chance.

I love me some classics like The Zep and Pink Floyd, and David Bowie has always been a favorite probably due to the fact that he's in constant flux. The Cure are also at the top of my list, but they're kind of a one-trick-pony.

I'm going to go with Talking Heads/David Byrne as a combo selection!

Big library of great stuff and always something different as you go from album to album. I'm still following David Byrne as he continues the legacy and he has recorded some pretty amazing stuff in the years since the break up of the Heads. Usually after a band breaks up, the members kind of dwindle off and never do much of anything after that. I think he's done some of his best stuff since leaving the band.

Definitely Dream Theater, but honorable mention to Van Halen, Boston, and Symphony X.

I have not experienced a more genuine, emotional, and real artist since Elliott Smith.

Nine Inch Nails comes in second.

Listen to Have Heart "Songs To Scream At The Sun" as per my recommendation in the album of the month thread! It's just oozing real emotion.

I could not possibly pick just one group.

I forgot to arm my opinion with videos. Just incase you don't know of Faith No More or have only heard Epic, they're one of the more experimental bands I can think of. Each album was completely different then the next and actually, now that I think about it, every song was different from the next. Even albums danced from genre to genre. I'm still bummed they aren't together anymore.

Early Faith No More -

Middle FNM - (Angel Dust is by far their best album)

Queen is my all time favorite band. I don't listen to them hardcore like I used to, but musically I have no softer spot in my heart for a group.

Second on my top three is Depeche Mode. They never disappoint..well..stay away from their first couple of albums.

And third, rounding out the top three, would be The Smiths. Why the hell isn't there any Smiths in any of the big music games!? (I'm looking at you, Rock Band!)

Holy crap, Morrisey has some awesome dance moves!

Tool.

Yes...I'd have to say it would be Tool.

but it's not like I sit around and listen to Tool...in fact i generally do not listen to music outside of my car...I made some new CDs at the end of August on of which had the New World Symphony on it...awesome for sure but I should have edited it with my little mp3 editor thing into it's separate movements...kinda retarded having one hour long song on a CD.

Horribly tough call between Nine Inch Nails and Sublime.

Though if I were to toss a DJ into the mix, DJ Z-Trip is right up there, too.

I like a lot of very different bands very much, but Nine Inch Nails has been my favorite band since 1993. I am constantly please with the new material (even if it sometimes has to grow on me a little) as well as the stage shows, the interaction with fans, and the production value.

So stoked to go see them again in November, there are a couple articles floating around the internet claiming they currently have the most technologically advanced light and stage setup ever.

I don't really like 'Bands' per se. I'm more of just a music fan, in general and take a couple of songs from each band. But lately I am really like a LOT of The Sword's songs they just are created from elements of pure awesome, creativity, originality and are my current favourite band. Their new CD Gods of the Earth is sick wicked and nasty.
