View Full Version : GTA IV Trophies Coming Monday to PS3

Rockstar has sent word that - in addition to the new zombie plague sweeping Liberty City (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=1629) - gamers on the Playstation 3 will be able to start unlocking Trophies in the game this Monday.

There will be 51 total trophies, broken down by four different levels: bronze, silver, gold and platinum - all contributing to your overall experience level on your PlayStation Network profile.

Most of the Trophies mirror the 360 achievements, but there is one more mystery Trophy for PS3 owners to earn.

Curse the lack of PS3 trophies at launch. I'll replay some games to get trophies, but not GTA. Beating that beast once was enough.

It's getting to the point where I'm purposely waiting to play some games like MGS4 because I know that trophy's will be added later on.

For all third party games, I just get the 360 version because the achievements are always going to be there no matter what.

Why even bother unlocking trophies months after release? Your not going to sell extra copies because of it....

Hmmm.. Yeah, tricky to know the approach to take if you've released your game on the PS3 already .. adding trophies will get you some goodwill in the community, but I'm not sure it will help in any other way though.

Maybe they felt trophies would be good on the PC release (if they don't go the Microsoft online route), so this would be good live bug-testing. ;)

Well, I dropped it at 40%, so maybe this is a good way to start over again. Someday, when this season is over. Lot's of other shit to do first.

For the folks that get it as a Christmas presents I guess. I beat it with most of the achievements on 360 and got about 92% complete on it. I even got the kill a Rockstar one during the first few weeks of release.

There is no way I would do it again, I'll just wait for the DLC and get the achievements for that.

I still don't have the game yet. I'm kinda hoping there's a Black Friday deal somewhere for $25 or something. I really don't want to pay more for the game, I don't need more GTA that bad.
