Thanks in no small part to the significant demand for Fallout 3, Best Buy and Bethesda have teamed up for a special midnight launch at the following Best Buy stores:Washington, DC area

For those of you who have been residing either under a rock or on another planet, Fallout 3 is the much-anticipated sequel to, you guessed it, Fallout 2 (and Fallout before that). Scoring a perfect 10-out-of-10 in the December issue of OXM (US), it looks like the fears about the direction of the game are largely unfounded. It is, though, still "Oblivion with guns."

What is the release date?
Fallout 3 will be available for PC, Xbox 360, and PLAYSTATION 3 in North America October 28th, 2008 and Europe October 31st, 2008. Japan gets it December 4th, 2008.

This will be a great game to grab in February when nothing is coming out.
That's when I'll most likely playing my copy. I just have to many other games I am playing or going to play...so I'll enjoy it when I know I can spend quality time with it. But it will sit her for a bit...since I ordered the survival edition.

Usually only for consoles. But was at the Fable 2 one. It sucked. My Gamestop sucks that way. No pizza or anything. Just take your money and stand around quietly.

I also wonder if they'll let you add a CD-key to your account and make it available online. I think it's normally only used with Valve releases, but if they could nail that down.... pure sexy.

No big surprise Richfield is having it and Roseville is a newly re-done store that is bigger now. Richfield one for those not in the know is less than a mile from Best Buy corporate HQ and would be considered their "primary store" around here.

Gamestops around here are doing midnight releases as well. Only time I've stood out was for Halo 2 and the 360. It was about 16-22 degrees for the 360 overnight, that was fun!
