Codemasters and Blue Omega have provided us with a host of new screenshots for their upcoming 'vertical shooter': Damnation

Damnation is set for release on December 18th for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

The only thing I read so far about this is that it still feels like a mod. I wonder if December is really a good time to release this.

I played this at PAX and I enjoyed what I played.....it's a bit different with it's Gears style shooting with platforming but being a December game really helps it because there probably won't be much to compete with it.

Really? Seeing as we're swamped with titles the next few weeks, and the beginning of December as well (PoP for instance). I'd think people rather pick up they didn't have the money for before. I know I would.

Seems to look quite nice, I know nothing about this game right now though. I shall keep on eye on it.

Vertical shooter/Platformer? I wasn't following this game before but I am now. And although December is a "light" month compared to the other months, not all gamers have either played nor finished through the onslaught of games in the previous months before December. This one looks real good...but my guess is going to be lost in the pile of games put out since September. January would of been a better month...

Feels like A mod or feels like THE mod. The game is based on a really good singleplayer mod, so that could be a good thing.

I've had this on my gamefly list for a few weeks now and can't wait. These screenshots make me more excited. A good B level western game is much needed.

I also got to look at this at PAX, when I was walking around with Ross and Gambit. I've been waiting to hear more on this because it looked really fuckin' sweet.

It's too bad that it comes out on the day that I have to be in Greenland, though. Otherwise I might pick it up before leaving. I guess I could always ask Santa for it for Christmas, though.

I have to find the video, but there's a gameplay segment with the verticality and it's pretty cool looking. At the same time, it could also be very gimmicky.
