IDG World Expo has announced that they are scrapping the fledgling E For All consumer videogame show.

The show, announced in the wake of E3's 2007 reformat, was open to the public, but never really found an audience. The announcement that 2009's E3 will revert to the 'big and loud' format - even though it will remain a trade-only event - was likely the final nail in E For All's coffin.

Perhaps we can expect PAX to be even crazier next year as devs/publishers have fewer shows to worry about.

It's as if 5 or 6 voices cried out... and then no one cared.

The Force is indeed weak over this one. :)

I really hope not. I see a distinct effort for events like PAX or GDC become more and more servants of the marketting machine. Which has been happening more and more each year. EA, Sony, Microsoft are making release announcements at press conferences during GDC, a Halo 3 reveal at PAX. I do not want to see them go the road of Comic Con in San Diego, one big commercial.
