US PSN Update 3/18

It's a rather quiet week for the PS3, with the Dragon Age expansion being the most high profile release, but the PSP gets a nice little pair of games with Patchwork Heroes and a port of The Red Star from the PS2. A pair of PS1 games rounds things out nicely, with some DLC for various games filling in the rest of the update. So, what's the good word on Patchwork Heroes?
No clue, but there's a demo that came out a couple of weeks ago. It looks interesting in that weird Japanese way that Locoroco and Patapon look.

There's a demo. I bought it and I think it's awesome. You're basically cutting out pieces of an oncoming airship until you've released enough mass to make it drop. Just try the demo, it's much easier than trying to explain.

Huh... I'm interested in both The Red Star and Patchwork Heroes. I had no idea a PSP port of The Red Star was coming, however.

I have CFW too, so I haven't been able to play it either. Watch out, though, keep posting with that tone and before you know it you'll be watching Twilight. ;)

It's a side effect of the way they make sure your average user updates to the latest firmware. It sucks, I'm in the same situation, but it's not unreasonable.

The Patchwork Heroes demo is pretty neat -- it's almost like an inverted version of QIX with better art (this is an oversimplification, of course).

Red Star was (unexpectedly) excellent on the PS2. If the PSP port is halfway decent, I might have to pick that up too.

It's also got a few moments that play out almost like bullet-hell shmups. It's an interesting beat-em up hybrid, almost. It's very old-school, however. I enjoyed it even if I had no idea about the Red Star comic book lore that it's based on.

Hey, I just picked up Trine and that's great. Well worth the $15 so far, so if anyone didn't grab it, the price drop is as good an excuse as any.
