New Gears of War 2 "Last Day" Trailer

It's a minute-long trailer created by the same people who did the "Mad World" trailer for the first Gears of War.

It's called "Last Day" because it shows the last moments Marcus, Dom, Cole, and Baird spend before they go back to the Locust tunnels.

It'll be airing during Sunday and Monday Night Football as well as some other events.

I think it looks fantastic. The brief part in the beginning with Cole and the flower makes my heart melt.

Great visuals, but I don't like it too much, it's a little too melodramatic given the depth and style of the game it's advertising. It does look fantastic though, loved the drop pod.

Yeah, I see what you mean... I think they're trying to go in that direction a bit though (more dramatic) because they want you to be more invested in the characters this time around. In the first game, not that much is known about them, so it's harder to care about them. But in this one, it seems like they're definitely trying to put a lot of focus on Dom and his wife to make them seem a bit more human. (That's what I think, anyway!)

Cool trailer but just like the Mad World one I really find the music at odds with what's going on, and not in a clever/artsy/tragic/whatever way.

I like both those songs, but it's a bit wanky to put them to Gears.

My biggest fear with this game is that it's going underground too much. Seeing as it was the weakest bit of 1. It does look a lot more interesting than the 1st one though, maybe I'll buy it sometime next year.

My hope is that they realized how much people liked the Mad World trailer, and decided to put some of that into the actual game this time around.

I like this trailer, though not nearly as much as the Mad World ad. The Mad World ad is probably my favorite video game ad to date.

Of course I'm not being sarcastic. The Gears story was great. I even wrote a slash fanfic about Marcus' relationship with Dom.

I like how the trailers for this franchise always make the story and characters look sort of deep and emotional. Then you play the game and realize the story was written by cavemen.

Also I love GoW and can't wait.

I thought that was a cool idea, but I really, really hope it isn't true. I think I get attached to characters way more easily than the average gamer (as in, there was no reason to be attached to them, but I am anyway), and I don't want them to be the bad guys. I just watched the trailer again and felt kind of sad, haha.

I still stand by my, um, stance that it was a great trailer.

Watch this trailer with "Bring it On Back" by JET as the background music. Fits much better, I think.
