Some one suggested the demo in another thread and i really enjoyed it so bit on the $10 price tag and I've been really enjoying it so far. It takes a while to get used to and in some ways it's a bit clunky and silly and slow but it's still fun. The adventure mode is fun so far, once you start wrapping your head around the rules for it you'll start building up a fleet and having fun.
The tattics of the battles are fun, since you have to make judgments about the other sides movments before making your own and so on. One thing i will say is don't for the love of god use auto orientation. It puts you in a world of hurt. See the main point of the battle is you do much more damage attacking the bottom or back of a ship then it's top or front. So it's all about getting your self in the right place but the auto stuff will tend to open your bottom side up to fire.
I've just started to get to grips with the idea and I can't tell you how much your rotation and the way you are facing matters in this game. I just did a fight where i was out numbered 3 to 1 and I won... partly thanks to having found one of the bad assed dreadnaughts but still.
