First Premium DLC Announced for Mass Effect 2

While there has been a steady stream of free additional content for Mass Effect 2 owners with access to the Cerberus Network, you knew the day would come that some paid DLC would appear for the game. "That Day" is now officially April 6, the release date for "Kasumi's Stolen Memory"

The DLC module will add a new member to the team - the titular Kasumi, a female thief - as well as a new SMG, a new achievement and an adventure in which all can be enjoyed. The DLC can be played both before and after the finale of the game. Bioware has not announced yet how much the module will cost.

I don't ever recall a single-player game with this much replay value. It's really amazing. Oblivion, maybe, but those didn't have the production values that the ME series has.

I'm guessing that since the majority of the data files for Kasumi are in the regular game Bioware just couldn't find the time to make a character model for her by release day.

Still, it evens up the party at 12 and adds some replay value, it's worth a look.

Well if it is anything like the rest of the game and the quests to pick up current crew members, this should not cost very much. If it is more than $5, I can't imagine the time to go through the DLC will justify that. And the character will no doubt have to be a throw away character that won't show up in ME3. And do we really need more characters on the ship? Where will the titular female thief hang out? May as well be in Shepard's room, because she will wind up there anyways. Ha. I was hoping any paid DLC would allow me to use my current crack team a little more rather than add to it. I'd like them to flesh out the cities some more. They really limited your access in ME2 to the population centers. But I guess what we really need is more romance options. Or most definitely NOT.

I'm guessing she'll hang out in the observation bay opposite Samara, the one room on the ship that doesn't open up yet.

As for DLC that will allow you to use your crack team more, this is only the first pack. I'm sure future ones will have more side missions. It's also not confirmed yet whether or not she'll be a romance option. I'd guess not.

I'd really like to see some missions that did things like the last one, it always feels a bit odd to have this ship full of the best people in the galaxy and you only use one or two of them at your side to get stuff done. Be cool if who you sent to do a side bit of the mission had an effect on the outcome and such. That said they did well in making finding your team worth while in this one even if you only kept 2 or 3 of them by your side.

Finally they reveal Kasumi. She and various audio clips were found in ME2's coding and put on the internet ages ago. If I remember correctly from some of the videos, she can use Overload and Heavy Pistols and Sub machine guns.

Considering this is a paid pack, maybe Kasumi will be more in depth, like Ink said. Maybe a new romance? :D

Shortly after ME2's release, people found a placeholder model, dialogue and conversation options for this new character. Zaeed wasn't in the game at all until the DLC.

it sounds like Zaeed was something always planed as incentive DLC were as this character was one that was meant to be in the game but was for some reason cut. Given some of her assets where already in the game then it probably made sense to leave them with a view to restoring them as DLC.

Looking at that video, she seemed to take Legion's place on that Suicide Run scene, obviously a cut character but her lines are already recorded. Still, not unexpected.

Wonder if we're getting the cut recruitment mission too.

I've heard an hour and a half of content, which would be very long for just a quick pick up and loyalty mission. I'm guessing we'll get a recruitment mission, too. It also would be interesting if she's indeed a third option for the vent mission.

Seeing those screens and reading about the mission made me fall in love. C-Can I also fuck her?

I actually would like that, I never really fell in love with anyone in ME2 and stayed loyal completley. I liked Garrus and Thane, dont get me wrong. They were very touching. But I didnt ever go romance them untill playthrough 1 and 2. Jacob is out of the question, and I always play femshep...
