Okay. It's almost too good to be true, but it looks as though the Zombies!!! tile-based game is coming to XBLA, PSN, and Steam. I'm always happy to see board games make it over to the arcade, especially with the success of Catan, Carcassonne, & Ticket To Ride. I'm always nervous too, especially with the recent cancellation of Talisman. Zombies!!! is being developed by Big Rooster, which is also working on bringing the board game Wings of War to XBLA. It's also worth noting that Big Rooster was the studio behind the recently canceled XBLA version of Talisman.Look for it sometime next year.

Rad. I totally dig this game. I generally tweak the game with a couple house rules every time I play but I'd like to see more board game influenced games on XBLA. Seems to be great place for them.

I haven't played Zombies!!! at all. I heard it's not as good as Last Night on Earth. I've always been curious to play Wings of War. It's not my type of board game, so I've never picked it up.

You might want to amend the story, it's coming to the PSN and Steam as well.

I love the board game on PSN/XBLA trend. Anyone play this one that can vouch for it's awesomeness?

Those who hang out in the Analog board know I have said it a million times but...
It is a good game even if a little heavy on the luck. Properly vindictive friends and controlled substances make this game considerably more fun.
Who painted those minis? That must have taken ages.

I do enjoy the physical game, and look forward to this! I can never find the time to get everyone together to play, so an online version would be great.

I enjoy zombies. Don't get me wrong. However, I'm a little afraid of the genre.

UPDATE: Weird. I'm posting an image from an album. I don't see it when not logged in. Does anyone else see it?

Then you'll love this news (http://www.siliconera.com/2008/10/20/game-republic-becomes-board-game-republic-starting-with-catan/) from Siliconera.
To summarize, Game Republic is making Catan for PSN, coming December 18th. Shadow Hunters, Owner's Choice, and Trick & Treat are planned for next year, and slated to be multi-platform.

Hell yeah. I keep looking at the Zombies!! box when I'm down the local games shop, but it's like 50 quid and I wouldn't have anyone to play with. Live version at a quarter of the price that I can play online? Thanks.

This is seriously the best news I've heard in a long time. We still bust out Zombies!!! at least one a week or so at my place - our favorite is playing the basic set and 4th Expansion together. I wonder how they're working this as far as expansions/what will be included in the initial purchase/etc.
Also, that picture is awesome. I've always wanted to give our zombies a little color, but that would take so much damn time.

This sounds pretty neat! I'm a big fan of Carcassonne on Live, and I've been meaning to check out Catan and Ticket to Ride. I'll have to do that soon.

Sad story: I've got a copy of the Zombies!!! boardgame (received it as a gift) yet have never played it. I need to find some more geeks, stat!
Look for it sometime next year.
Oooooooooooh. FAIL. (At least for me, anyway.) :(

I'm still bummed about Talisman. :(
But, I bought the analog version, and it's suprisingly fun...especially with the new rules changes.
Zombies, in case you're not a fan of beer-n-pretzel tabletop games (do they even call them that anymore?) is in the same vein as Betrayal at House on the Hill, or a particularly vicious version of 'Sorry!'.
The game is based on chance, but there is a bit of strategy, which is more fun since your opponents get to control a number of zombies on their turn against you. You get improvised weapons, minor 'vehicles' like skateboards, etc. and the whole mission is to 'Get to dah chappah!'.
It's fun, and it has zombies.
EDIT: Oh, and Catan...it's math with sheep and wood. Roadbuilding and trading with guys who are either mellow hippies or massive nerdlings. It's fun for people who like a lot of thinking in their games.

Zombies!!! is pretty fun. I have the original and the 4th one I think, the one with the zombie dogs.
When I play it with friends they want to wipe out all of the zombies, not escape. Probably need to tweak the death rules a little to make that not appealing.

I downloaded the trial way back at the beginning of the year, or possibly late last year. I started it up and had no idea what was going on, so I quit with the intention of coming back later. Fast forward a year, and I still haven't gone back to it. :o

I'll have to update Ms. Claus on your buying habits so she can stalk you on those games too ;)

I didn't know they were doing Wings of War. From the screenshots it looks really good. You could almost not tell it's a board game.
