OK, so the story goes like this:

Myself and a few of the guys hit the local Wal-Mart after midnight on Oct 21st, and lo and behold, the electronics department has a case of about 30 copies of Little Big Planet, street dated for th 21st. Jeff (our electronics guy) gives the guys a copy each to carry to the cash, and opens up another copy and pops it onto the department's 50" plasma display. So here we are, at 2:30 in the morning playing Little Big Planet multiplayer at a local Wal Mart, me knowing full well i've got to open my own store the next morning. Kev and Jon carry their copies to the cash, wallets in hand, only to be greeted by a lovely "cannot sell item" message at the cash register. A call is made to the night manager, who does nothing at all for us, and we leave empty handed.

All I can say, is the game is freaking fantastic! That's coming from a total non-believer. I must have this game!

I've never been more enthralled by doing nothing in my life. Just holding the shoulder buttons and whipping the little sackboy arms around was hilarious!

Dammit! I knew i should have broken out the cel phone cam.

I can give you an account of the opening sequence: no title screen, the game just turned on and two little sackboys fell out of a manhole looking thing and walked through a level that consisted of cut out photos of the development team taped to the background with strips of scotch tape. And the British narrator told us how to change outfits, control our little guys (and the narration was very humourous!) and we wound up inside what looked like one of those cardboard TV sets you played with as a kid, looking out at a really funky looking globe, while my little sackboy used a dual shock 3 (i controlled his arms, which were holding each analog stick) to rotate the thing. We then did a level where we grabbed a bunch of orbs and what looked like William Shakespere outfits.

Man it was awesome.

I wish I was able to finish either of my 2 levels from the beta.

I want this game, why must it be delayed so? Oh well, only 5 more days. Assuming it hasn't been pushed back farther that I don't know about.

Welcome to hell, where your copy has been delayed until tomorrow, where there are only two days (today and tomorrow), and tomorrow never arrives!

Yep, that's the opening credit sequence. During the beta, it was the moment I knew I would love the game. It's just gets better, so enjoy...

I was lucky enough to get a copy of the game on Tuesday. It's really quite amazing.

I was in the beta, and I loved it... but the full game is just... awesome. So many unlockables. The level design is truly insane (in a good way).
I haven't been able to connect online with the game yet, since I don't think they have the servers up since the game hasn't technically launched yet.

Some of the levels toward the end get very challenging.

"Two Sackboys in a Manhole" That just sounds funny

I really can't wait to see the reviews on this one. I don't currently have a PS3 but it only takes one good title to make me buy it.

Gamerankings has it at a 95% average review score based on 20 or 21 reviews.

Wow, I saw the IGN review and this game looks like a must have... except for the following

1. Gears 2
2. Fallout 3
3. I no longer have a PS3 (easily remedied)

Perhaps after I burn through Fable Fallout and Gears 2 and get bored with them I will pick this up.. I was BLOWN AWAY..

now if I could only toss this wii collecting dust..

So, you guys skipped the opening movie? 8-P (it's ok, it's cool but not great).

Anyhow, I beat this game the other night, and I love it. It's amazing and great and pretty much everything else you could say that was positive. I've done all of the tutorials for the level builder, and the only collectibles left are the multiplayer ones (for the most part), and I'm thinking about starting to work on a remake of Castlevania. We shall see, though.
