Disciples of the Dragon Punch and the Sonic Boom, your wait will continue for at least a little while longer.
Yoshi Ono, producer on Street Fighter IV says that the game will be in homes "this winter"We don't want to start rumors that it's this year, but definitely this winter. At some point you'll be sitting in you winter coat looking at snow out the window…and right then we'll kind of heat you up a little with some hot street fighter action so look forward to that. This jibes with a recent story in which a producer on the upcoming Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li movie said that SFIV would release on consoles alongside his movie, which hits theaters on February 27th.
Street Fighter IV is slated for release on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

That's quicker than I thought. I wish this was a DLC title with a cheaper price tag. I get bored of fighters real fast. None are worth full price to me.
So we have to wait till Feb? Not bad, it is a lot sooner than what I thought. But I won't complain. So what about SF HD?

That's what I figured. Late Winter.

It's been talked to death most places, but I'm not a fan of the updated artistic style for this title. They're entitled to make artistic decisions and choices, but I'm entitled to not buy a Street Fighter title for the first time I can remember (I've been buying SF titles since SF II on the SNES), as well.
It just doesn't do it for me.

I love fighters but I've got to agree. You can't look at the amount of work and content that go into games like Dead Space or Fable 2 (for example) and then look at Street Fighter IV and say "oh yeah, that's worth the same price". Not, at, all.

For other fighters I can. I don't know much about SF4 but if they did as much work as other 3D fighters out there, it might be as well. They could be banking on a game name, who knows. Here are a few better questions? Are we really getting Capcom vs Marvel? Where the hell is SF2 HD?

Feb is a good time for fighters because there won't be much else competing for my money.

When does Blaz Blue and the next Guilty Gear come out. I'm not like heavily into those games. But I do like fighters. So next year is really the year of the fighters.

I just can't, even looking at other fighters. It's simply differences of scale with regards to the content.

But look how they both have the roughly the same design times. I can see if we talking about Tao Fang, but there is also a level of precision and speed expected of fighting games. The models are far more detailed as are the stages. Then a lot of them have added environmental aspects, combo systems, I mean any one character in DOA can have over 80 moves.

I understand all of that. But the design time is largely determined by the team size and leadership involved, so I don't look at that to be completely indicative of the content/price in question. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally down with SFIV. Just saying I don't think I'll be buying it at full price.
