Not sure how long this will last, it's smoking hot :) The last time it was on sale, it was $100 off for $265-270. It's $309 USD on Dell.com.

Still tempting me, but I don't have the desk space for two screens, and already have a 22" I am happy with. If this was the 24", I might bite.

Yeah, I already have a 22" and 23" as well. The 23" can just go because the 22" looks much better, but they're both TN panels and a few years old. I want an IPS panel so this is perfect. Anyway, bought 1 :) Wish I could be in for 2... actually still contemplating it.

Debating it. Lack of HDMI has me considering investing the $30-40 in new CCFLs + maybe an hour's work to repair my 2005FPW, but this is tempting. I've been trying to hold off on upgrading until DisplayPort and LED backlighting become standard.

No HDMI kinda ruins it. I got a Dell 22" a couple years ago for Christmas that had HDMI and it works out very well. Have 360 connected via VGA (don't have an HDMI-equipped one) and the PS3 connected via HDMI.

Can those wanting HDMI just buy a cheap HDMI to DVI adapter and call it good? Or are they not always reliable?

I could, but the entire point of wanting HDMI is being able to hook up HDMI devices without having to bother with converters, etc. Also, my PC would be occupying the DVI port, so that would just make it a huge pain.
I mean, the monitor has the ability to remotely adjust the brightness, for christ's sake, HDMI isn't much to ask.

True. It's just not that standard yet for the PC I guess. Most GPU's don't have HDMI standard now, still on DVI-D. I would be miffed about not having HDMI if the monitor had built in speakers or whatever, but I'm using it solely on the PC so DVI-D is ideal for me.

Eh, HDMI is very common on video cards and even integrated motherboard video these days, and it's exceedingly common on lower-midrange LCDs.
Just saying, when I bought my 2005FPW a few years ago one of the selling points of the high-end panel was that it came with a number of extra inputs. This thing's a weird combination of high end panel with budget panel input options.

And priced accordingly I'd say. Still a fantastic price on what it is. It's perfect for people like me, I suppose, people that don't need to hook up any other devices to it and would rather pay a lower price.

But then it has bizarre extras like remote management.
Not saying it's a bad deal, just that I can't figure WTF Dell is doing with their product lines these days.

Heh truth. I'm not complaining though. At $200, it's a stupid deal for what you get. Or was rather. Sure, I'd have loved the Ultrasharp U24. No doubt. But that's $750, on sale for $599. If that baby had the same treatment or sale, bringing it to $400, I'd have been alllll over it.

Spoke too damn soon... the U2410's are going on sale this Wednesday. Now to figure out how to return this sucker and buy one of those lol.
