Ok, so I want to buy something, but I haven't found anything that I want. So instead, I'm gonna buy stuff for you guys! I'm going to post a Steam game, and one of the first five people to enter have a chance to win!

Here's the thing, though. This is going to work kind of like woot.com, where as soon as I someone wins the first game, I'm going to post another game! However, you can't enter to win a game if you already entered for the last game. You CAN enter for the game after, though.

Of course, I'll probably either end up doing just a few games of increasing value, or several lower priced games (within the $5-$10 range). I'll probably end up coming back to this thread whenever I feel like buying something, but can't decide what, though.

Anyway, the games to date are:

Threadless T-Shirt - Kelegacy (pending)
Freedom Force (http://store.steampowered.com/app/8880/) - rein (funds donated to charity)
Time Gentleman, Please! and Ben There, Dan That! double pack (http://store.steampowered.com/app/37400/) - Hemalin

Total value of prizes claimed: $4.99
Total donated to charity: $5

Oh, also...

FUN FACT: Instead of being like everyone else and using Random.org, I'm going to use this thread as practice for my CSE class. I've written a program that'll prompt me for a list of comma-separated names, and spit out a random name.

FUN FACT #2: The program is 4 lines long.

SUPER EDIT FUN FACT #3: The program is now 2 lines long.

CONTEST UPDATE: If, instead of receiving a game, you'd rather donate to a charity, I will gladly donate an equivalent amount to the charity of your choice.

The next game is Freedom Force. (http://store.steampowered.com/app/8880/)

Be warned, I heard this game has trouble with 64-bit OS'es, or something like that.

It's too bad you can't gift with Games for Windows Live, Batman:AA at $12.50 would make for some awesome "raffle" prizes.

Ain't that that truth. I'll probably end up giving away a lot of weekend deals.

Or AI War, if that's down to $10 yet. I keep seeing it at the #1 or 2 spot on top indie games of 2009. :P Although, that would ensure that everyone forgoes the charity giving. BANTER! (That one's for your Hemalin)

In.

Just looked the site over and most of the tshirts seem to be out of stock for anything over extra small for guys. Weird.

I suppose if this turns out to be a problem, I could find something of equal value. Or take a rain check or something.

Most threadless brand shirts on Threadless are out of stock fairly quickly and not usually likely to be reprinted. Shirts they print on American Apparel tees are usually a much better proposition for being in stock, though the material is apparently not as good as the actual threadless brand.

This is true. I got a shirt from the Select Series, and although it is my favorite shirt, the material is pretty flimsy. I feel like it got better with time, though.

AWESOME! I'm not charitable, but I don't think there are any shirts in stock. I looked at every page and there don't seem to be any available. I've been big into the graphic tees lately...the geekier the better just to irritate my wife.

The kid shirts are fantastic, Kelegacy. I was looking at 4-year old sized ones and they were in stock. I know they have a lot of onesies as well.

That's actually a great idea. I'll look into that. I was looking for the missus as well, but I didn't scan enough. I always click on like a dozen shirts that I like and all of them come up as unavailable...but I didn't look at the kids availability.
