Diplomacy failed. Civ IV instead?

So, since we have a strong contingent of luddites that failed to get a Diplomacy (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=9789) game off the ground, we're going to try to get a one-turn per day Civ IV game going. So far we have:

Jeffool
Nameless
Panthera
Scull

all interested. Anyone else want to get in on a very slow moving Civ IV game? We aren't really going to play just one turn per day, but that is the minimum we expect form everyone. If we get moving faster than that so be it.

Yeah I'd need to reinstall as well, but damn. Sounds good. I've never played with any real difficulty, so I'd probably get my ass kicked, but I fucking LOVE Civ.

I'd like to use Beyond the Sword just to make things interesting. It includes Warlord features.

I have next to no experience with Civ IV multiplayer, but I'd be up for it, if it's relatively easy to get into. I have IV, Warlords and BTS, just don't have Warlords installed at the moment.

Because there's some confusion about expansions, I should point out that the options are:

1) Base Civ IV
2) Warlords
3) Beyond the Sword

If you're playing Beyond the Sword, you don't need Warlords. However, it includes all the new stuff in Warlords. There is no combination of 2 and 3 that needs both - there's just 3.

Beyond the Sword adds quite a lot of nice features, but if people don't have it, it makes that decision pretty easy, right? :)

BtS contains everything from Warlords, except the mods. The major gameplay additions are all intact.

I finally started playing Civ IV the other day (I've played a ton of II and III, but very little of IV for whatever reason), and so far I'm getting my butt kicked. My Jewish Dutch empire is being invaded by the Holy Roman Empire, and they are just not very nice.

Realistically, I think we'll have about half of those, and I didn't count Scull or Nameless because they haven't posted, Jeffool doesn't have the expansions, and not everyone who says they're interested will eventually join up. Just to keep things sane, I think I'll make a final sign up thread with a decided cap of probably 8 or 12. I'll have to check to see if AI can be swapped in if players drop, that might convince me to up the cap.
