Until recently, I always though it was pronounced "wize".
Apparently, it's "hiss".

I saw some shots, and they don't look too good. but then again, if the animation is smooth, 3d can definitely be an improvement.

I didn't realize this was in 3D until today. Bleh. Oh well, it could still be good.

And I've always heard it pronounced as "eez".

I'm looking forward to this. I never got a chance to play the originals and of course it's one of those titles you are told "you must play this...". I'll support Atlus and buy a copy...if it has decent gameplay for an RPG, i'm fine. I just want a chance to be able to play it.

The pronunciation is "ease." I've got a long time Ys fanatic as a friend, and he disowns these games as garbage.

You should all play Ys 6 and Oath in Felghana though.

...I have always pronounced it "eace" as in peace minus p.

All very similar I guess but which one is the right one? I'm so kuhn-fyooz-ed.

You're right. Ys 1 and 2 for TG-CD (and VC) has voice acting, and that's how they say it.

All the fans I speak to say that those localizations, as well as Ys 6, are incorrect and the developers pronounce it "ease."

I never played Ys, but I will say that the music in these games are shockingly amazing.

Well, the developers are Japanese, and it's written "iisu," not "iizu." Since the -u is silent, that means it's like "geese" or "peace," and the localizations are right.

Well, colour me corrected then, I guess.

I'm just going to fake sneeze when I order it so the sales person catches just enough to understand what I am saying but not enough to know if I am saying it correctly. Then again, the register monkey will probably say, you mean "why's"? :)

Yeah, when I got Ys 6, I just spelled it out for the guy. It's not his fault.
