It's GTA...I'll be buying this. What's with the screen with different drugs on it? Drugs for health now? ;)

My guess would be that you buy drugs in one part of town, and then sell them in another part, for profit!

So it's like Drug Wars from my old TI-83 calculator then?

Exactly what came to my mind.
Wonder if this is going to be rated AO with drug reference?

It appears that you also have some kind of kill frenzy judging by the second screen shot. I do hope the frame rate is better than the frame rate of GTA: advance. That kind of ruined that game.
I know the shots are blown up, but they don't exactly look great. I think I would of preferred the GTA1/2 camera shots.

I'd think so, but i really have no idea. But isn't GTA really just a bunch of minigames thrown together into a somewhat perfect mix?

The feature that Nintendo Power did on it in their November issue is really great. Gives a lot of info. I'm really excited for this.

You sell drugs, it is a minigame.
I am looking forward to this, but wonder how playable it is going to be. GTA advance was almost perfect 3d GTA but in an isometric view point and I never could get into it.

It is probably from one of those road side kill missions, I forget what they are called. Rampage or something. You know, the 'kill 40 gangsters in a minute' and they give you a minigun type. Or just a mission where they ask you to wreak havok, it isn't like we have never seen those before.

I have never really ever played a GTA game, so this will be interesting.
It may be terrible, but it might also be interesting.

You know, if you resize these images to the size of a DS screen, these screens actually look pretty good. To my eyes at least. But I'm a sucker for the cel-shading look, so consider me biased :)

Official press release for Chinatown Wars in North America/Europe: (GoNintendo (http://gonintendo.com/?p=66322))
New York, NY – December 15, 2008 - Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), is proud to announce the release date for Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, the latest entry into the genre-defining Grand Theft Auto series. Developed by Rockstar Leeds, in conjunction with series creators Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be available for the Nintendo DS™ on March 17 and 20, 2009 in North America and Europe, respectively.
“Rockstar Leeds have once again created a game that far exceeds our standard for deep and innovative entertainment,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We are incredibly excited to share this enormous and uncompromising Grand Theft Auto experience with DS fans.”
Edge Magazine commented, “How does Rockstar follow Grand Theft Auto IV? By rebuilding Liberty City from the ground up on DS - and not compromising its vision one iota.”
Nintendo Power added, “…it’s undeniable that Chinatown Wars is doing something no other DS game has come close to: creating that living, breathing world the Grand Theft Auto games are known for.”

3D has never looked great on the DS. A top-down hand-drawn 2D look would have been perfect for this game.
