If you had told me 5 years ago that we were on the verge of a full on Karaoke game revolution, I would have said you were crazy. If you had told me that craze had nothing at all to do with the Japanese I would have had you locked up. Well here we are in late 2008 and games that come with little plastic microphones are all the rage, and none of them come from a Japanese development house.
Next up on the hit parade is Lips, Microsoft's in-house singing game first demoed at this year's E3. Set to debut on November 18th, the package will include the game and two wireless microphones for $69.99. The mics will also double as motion sensitive controllers, which will feature prominently in several game modes. There will also be versus battles, a 'back up mode' in which two additional players can use regular 360 controllers to simulate percussion instruments, and the popular 'Freestyle Mode', in which any DRM-free mp3 you have on your connected music player can be used in the game (albeit without any on-screen lyrics to sing to).
As for the game's tracklisting, here you go:
a-ha - “Take on Me” Nirvana - “In Bloom”
