Console versions a questionmark?
While it was initially believed that the long-awaited third Deus Ex game would hit PC and consoles, a new interview with Eidos Montreal lead designer Jean-Francois Dugas suggests that the 2009-due shooter-RPG prequel could be a PC-exclusive.
"We don't know exactly which platforms we're going to be out on," he explained to Edge. "If we're to go console we will want to keep the complexity alive. We want the menu interface and controller to feel simple without risking any of their potential."

If they can do Fallout 3 for console, they can do this for console. I don't get it.

Of course they can do Deus Ex for a console, but I think they want to make sure they can provide the same experience if they do so. They probably are just trying to avoid creating a watered down experience.
That being said, I think they probably will release it for consoles.

Who cares about the consoles?
What bothers me is that this guy already thinks he knows how to do Deus Ex better than the first team did. His resume (http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,162262/) is really nothing to brag about.
He may know how to do a Deus Ex sequel better than the original team knew how to make a sequel of their own game. And I agree, by simplifying it for consoles, the sequel lost a lot of what made it good. To a degree, it already felt like a different team made that sequel.

I don't get it. Both Far Cry Instincts (2005) and R6:V were above 90% on metacritic. This guy seems to be good at his job.

Hm, so it was the same team. Well, nevermind then.
I still don't like his attitude...

Far Cry instinct had the same problem as Far Cry; cool until they added in non-human enemies, I played R6:V for all of five minutes so I have nothing there.
I just don't like his "not enough memorable moments attitude", maybe just because it is my favorite game. I don't like the new developers attitude, seems cocky.

Its not an attitude. I wouldn't mind a nuclear explosion or two in the new game... if they're trying to make many more memorable moments in the new game, then that's ambition.

He wants it to be faster paced and less of a simulation? Fail.
To me, that says he wants more guns and action and less RPG-ness, sneaking, and planning. Fail fail fail.

It is an attitude, though it is ambitious. He says he wants it to be more memorable than the first. The first is widely regarded as a masterpiece, and until he can out do it he is only riding on its coattails, using the franchise name that already built a reputation for itself. Though he does have to deal with the tarnished reputation the sequel garnered. It isn't a big deal, it just bothers me.
Either way, Ancalagon got at another part that bothered me. Deus Ex was supposed to be a sim, they went out of thier way to make it that way. What with the stealth, area specific damage and the way the skill system was structured. He even recognizes this and decides to deliberately go the other direction. I agree that fans can often muddle up the final results if you let them have too much of a say, but if you are not making it for the fans than why are you using the franchise name?
