Went through the site and the one thing that i noticed was missing among the classes was archery. Doesnt look like theres any bow classes out there, which makes me sad panda because..well.. i loved the archery classes in D1/2 and TQ.

Could still be in the works...maybe they'll have 5 classes instead of 4?

I know nothing is set in stone yet, but they have to have a ranged class. The majority of Diablo 1 players I knew went with the rogue. I knew more D2 players with Amazons than any other class, by far. Sure, no one likes keeping track of ammo...which they could easily fix by making arrows and bolts unlimited. Obviously my opinion is subjective but ditching the bow/crossbow path seems like a bad idea.

On the one hand, I'm glad this game is likely months/years away, because I'm rapidly running out of time to fit all the recent awesome games in and esp with SC2 on the horizon.... as I know D3 will devour every morsel of my free time. Maybe I can get my girl addicted and claim it's quality time together....

I found a windforce in a barrel in the first diablo when i was in the low teens, it was too high for me. eventually i could use it, and i was playing online and some guy called me a hacker - this is when it first came out and there were a lot of hacks.. but my windforce was legit yo!

Yeah, I thought about that as well. But it's not really the same. I suppose they could make it more of an equivalent, but thinking back on the way the sorcerer/sorceress was handled in the first two...they would need to make some big changes to meet that middle ground. Magic users were always very frail if you weren't using some kind of melee-based caster build. Amazons and rogues bridged the gap between the weak-as-cardboard but powerful magic users and the tough-as-nails warrior types.

Again, I'm just thinking about the way the first two handled them. They could balance the classes better to alleviate the lack of ranged, semi-warrior classes.
We shall see. Still seems odd to dump one of, if not the most popular class type.

I'm pretty sure the plan was always to have five classes, like vanilla D2. The fifth class will be your archer/ranged class.

I thought it was well known that there's going to be 5 classes. The last one has to be some kind of archer. I'm predicting a D2 Amazon/WoW Hunter mash up.

Doesn't matter to me though. Sorc was always my D2 class of choice, and I can't see myself playing anything other than the Wizard here. I just hope they keep supplying D3 with fresh content for those of us who will play it like there are no other games in the world. Hell, I'd pay a subscription if it meant getting a steady stream of extra content.

Yeah, I'm not overly keen on the wizard model. Your description is pretty much spot on.

The female monk is my favorite looking character, followed by the female wizard. All the others just look ugly.

I guess it won't matter much once they're covered with items and loot after just a few minutes of game time. Even so, I hope the 5th class is more appealing. Or they throw in a few simple customization options.
