Despite promises from Lionhead chief Peter Molyneux, the previews of Fable III from X10 haven't made fans "super pissed off." But that doesn't mean that things aren't changing (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=15568). The setting has moved forward 60 years, and is reminiscent of a Dickensian industrialized Britain. Things seem much bleaker than in Fable II (which wasn't all that 'lighty n brighty' to begin with.

Fable III will be released this fall for the Xbox 360.

Why are things bleaker? Why do we fix the world just so things can get bleaker?!

I like the change to a more steampunk setting. Good stuff.

Plus, doesn't that pretty much mean that they're required to implement some form of steam-knight/power armor? I think so.

When does this come out. Seems to be a bevy of info coming out.

Q4 I think?

All they've said this week is either Fall or Holiday. No specific date.

I'm looking forward to this. I've enjoyed the Fable series all along, and I really like the changes listed so far.

There seems to be more focus on being a ruler and actually making decisions in that context. I've wanted to see more gameplay like that in general, not just in Fable. Buying up buildings and even being called "king" but not having it mean anything was a bit frustrating.

I really liked buying up buildings and eventually getting the castle. In fact, that may have been my favorite part of the game. Still, I'd love more king-y stuff to do.

And I think Fall/Holidays is actually Q3, not Q4.
