Press Release: VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Oct. 22, 2008 - Grab your gardening tool and watch out for giant spiders, out-of-control asylum patients and wacko sanitarium administrators! Hothead Games announced today that Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode Two will be available via Xbox LIVE® Arcade and via the Greenhouse digital distribution platform (www.playgreenhouse.com) for Windows®, Mac® and Linux® next Wednesday, October 29.
The madcap Penny Arcade experience continues in Episode Two of the RPG-Adventure romp! Rejoin Gabe and Tycho and go crazy in a whole new episode with more puzzles, areas to explore and levels to gain, all while moving ever closer to solving the sinister mystery hidden deep in the heart of New Arcadia. Players can jump right in with a fresh character and new customization options or carry over their looks and stats from Episode One. Plus, new difficulty settings allow gamers to play it safe or go insane, battling bigger and badder enemies than ever before.
Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode Two will also boast music from The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, a Canadian rock band dedicated to promoting the literature of H. P. Lovecraft and a recent performer at the 2008 Penny Arcade Expo gaming festival. The song, entitled "Some Things Man Was Not Meant To Know," will enhance the game's closing credits.
"This game is all about the strange and insane world of New Arcadia and the Penny Arcade-style humor to be found in it," said Hothead CEO Vlad Ceraldi. "With the cool gameplay additions we've made, including longer gameplay, completion tracking and difficulty settings; extra Lovecraftian overtones in the world and music; and the perfect time of the year, everything just came together."
Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode Two is expected to offer players six to ten hours of gameplay, and is priced at $14.95 for the Windows, Mac, and Linux versions on Greenhouse and at 1200 Microsoft points via Xbox LIVE® Arcade. The game has been rated "M" for Mature by the Entertainment Software Rating Board for all platforms.

Good god. ANOTHER GAME TO PLAY THIS FALL????? Does it ship with 6 extra hours for each day of the week?
This will be my top priority though. Gotta finish it before I get too far into fallout
Upsetting that it isn't on Steam at the same time as that is where I played the first one and I want to get the second one there. Maybe they are trying to get Greenhouse a leg up, but I'll wait instead of buying from a new company.

I had fun with ep. 1, and I will pick this up when the dust settles. Most likely around christmas or early next year.

I will definitely get this, even if the timing is crap. This is a game that could easily be buried under the deluge of releases. But I need to support good game releases on Linux.

I'll pick it up on Greenhouse this time; I like Steam better, but I figure it's similar to the difference between buying from a locally owned game store and buying from a franchise; so for $15 I'll pick it up day one.
Ep1 cost me $10 thanks to a weekend sale, and I wouldn't have paid $20.

I adored the first game, well, enjoyed it a lot. I can't wait to play more... and $15 is a fine price, if I do say so myself.

I still have yet to play the first one. And I am not some faux chic nerd who hates Penny-Arcade, I find them rather ammusing. Seems to have slipped through the cracks.

As for the first one it was a case of: Bought it, played it, finished it. A very easy game I have to say. I never failed a single combat. I liked the story and the humour though. All very caustic in an almost Black Adder like manner.
Just as an aside, which version are people going to get? I'm going to grab the PC version as I preferred playing it on that plaform than the consoles.

you are aware that greenhouse IS penny-arcade, right?
They started it for OTRSPOD in the first place.

I think this is perfect timing guys. Just like Peggle Nights. There will be a Saturday afternoon or Sunday where you have finished an epic game and need a fresh fix for the following day.

Well it's a partnership between Hothead and PA. But yeah it makes sense to be on Greenhouse before other digital distribution.
