That was as awesome as anticipated. Baroness was the opener for last night. No High On Fire for some reason. Baroness was kind of odd as most of their set seemed instrumental and the few lyrics they had I couldn't really understand. They didn't talk or anything between songs so the songs kind of blended into each other. I'm not too familiar with their music but I liked what I heard last night. They got a full hour and basically went non stop all the way through.

Opeth got started at 9 and went for 2 whole hours. I can't remember the entire set list but I know they opened with Heir Apparent and they played The Grand Conjuration, The Lotus Eater, Serenity Painted Death, Hope Leaves, The Night and the Silent Water, Demon of The Fall, Blackwater Park and the encore was The Drapery Falls. I'm probably missing a couple in there but I don't remember every song off hand. I know one thing for sure, I won't be missing another Opeth show at House of Blues. I grabbed some pictures on the iPhone during the encore...here's a few of them.

Mikael Åkerfeldt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikael_%C3%85kerfeldt) : vocals, lead guitar player and sexy beast

Fredrik Åkesson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fredrik_%C3%85kesson) : rhythm guitar

Per Wiberg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Per_Wiberg) : keyboards
Martin "Axe" Axenrot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Axenrot) : drums, Legolas lookalike

Martin Mendez (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Mendez) : bass

I apologize for the quality, blame the iPhone.

And of course they play a song off of Damnation, which they just simply wouldn't do last time I saw them.

I was hoping for other ballads like To Bid You Farewell, Hours of Wealth or Burden but they only played the one.

Definitely, how TBYF builds up is awesome. You know exactly when to turn it up.

Oh yeah, I also got a nice Watershed tour shirt. I wasn't sure if I was going to get one at $30 but they only had my size and I felt that was a sign.

When I went they were out of both mediums and larges, I had to get an x-large...so I rarely even wear it unless I want to look like I am swimming in cloth.

They only had XXL in the tour shirts....one of the band shirts though had all sizes I think.

I hate you, being in Alaska sucks for Metal concerts. Oh, but we had Cheap Trick at the state fair this year........

I have to drive at least 3 hours to get to anything good.

Figures...I just read a news story that Burden will be their next video, now it will probably be included in every show.

One time, I caught Opeth when they toured with Porcupine Tree... They played the entire Damnation album, To Bid You Farewell, Face of Melinda, Harvest, and pretty much any other "soft" track they had.

Best show I ever saw them at.

Opeth was a great, great show. I have a raging man crush on Mikael after seeing them live.

Damnation ftw! Their best, in my opinion.
