Welcome to the very first episode of The Comics Archive (http://thecomicsarchive.com/)! In this show Jeremy (Ghostbear), Michael (Laughing Penguin), Sam (Sazime) and Anthony (Rogue Hunter) talk about Warren Ellis and Stuart Immonen’s Nextwave. So join Photon, Machine Man, Boom Boom, Elsa Bloodstone and Captain **** as they take on the Dirk Anger, who is definitely not a Nick Fury analogue. Will we survive the Broccoli Men and the M.O.D.O.K Elvises ? Listen and find out!
Our show will focus primarily on doing one story arc or graphic novel per episode. It will be spoiler heavy, so keep that in mind.
Have an idea for a story you want us to talk about? Send an email to jeremy@thecomicsarchive.com

If the conclusion isn't that Nextwave is the greatest thing to ever grace the printed page, I want nothing to do with your podcast.

"zomg. boom."
"I gave him the explodo because I am clever."
This thread reminds me that I lost my hardcover trade of Nextwave in the move. Are they still printing hardcovers for this or am I stuck with the paperback like some peasant?

Hooray! More comics talk on CoG! I'll definitely listen to this when I get home, however, I should say that I am not a fan of Next Wave. It tries to hard to be weird or funny, and I find it distinctly not awesome.

You are clearly some sort of space alien. Or maybe a robot? ;)

Those are pretty much my sentiments about Warren Ellis as a whole. ;(

In March Marvel is releasing a new softcover with both trades in one, but I'm not sure if they're reprinting a hardcover.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about Umbrella Academy either.

Hah. I actually really dig Umbrella Academy. I feel like there is a lesson to learn here.

That even stupid emo bands can produce something awesome? That death squads are possibly a mistake for them?

Warren Ellis is almost as overrated as Grant Morrison...except for The Authority.

I can't find it in my heart to disagree with you. This book was great though.

Nextwave is great, Fell is the greatest thing created by man. Anybody who disagrees should learn how to read!
