I was checking out the "Favorite Bond" thread when I realized that Quiller (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quiller)seems more like a proper British spy than Bond. I read several of the Fleming novels when I was young but never really took them too serious since the silly Roger Moore kitsch movies were coming out at the time. I accepted them as light entertainment rather than a lead to the novels.
The Quiller novels seem to show more of the infrastructure and guidance that a spy would need rather than just sending one "Super Spy" out on his own to take on the bad guys. Quiller also seems to show more of the insecurities and flaws that real people have.
Check them out! (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=Quiller+adam+hall&x=0&y=0)

To answer the title: them's fightin' words, and no.
Mind you, I've never gotten around to reading the James Bond books either, despite my interest. Still, if you insist that this...Quiller is better, than I may give it a look later on; in fact, I'll check and see if my library even has it now.

They've made one Austin Powers, and I refuse to believe anyone who says otherwise.
But, I digress...

I think one was made in 1966. I haven't seen it.
Use your mind and read a book. It's worth the effort! ;)

Never!!! For some reason I can't read books. Get antsy and can't get past a couple pages. Seems like a wall of text. I'd rather play game.
