View Full Version : The most important question of them in all......

So..... We have a new home.
I think its time we answer a question that has been debated since time immemorial. Its time to vote people!
Myself..... Hell I like all of the above options except the last two. Donuts with either glacing or white icing are a particular favourite. sometime soon I plan to cook baked donuts with a friend of mine who is also rather partial to them. I'm thinking of making white chocolate icing to go with them. Other than that, donuts and waffles always go down well.
The only thing I havent tried is bacon with anything sweet. I dont know why, I guess I just think that savoury things should stay savoury, and sweet things should stay sweet, and the two should never meet. The same friend of mine of mine mentioned above likes to mix salty popcorn with chocolate coated raisins, so she would probably like the bacon idea. She also likes bacon more than I do (makes mental note to suggest the combination to her!).
So..... whats your poison?

I hope you're building a poll as I read this because I'm really confused...

Well, I was going to vote pancakes until I saw that bacon was an option.
Bacon is always the best option. (http://baconsalt.com/)

Eh, you can vote for more than one. So I voted for pancakes and bacon. I normally eat them in the same meal anyways. :D

That raises an interesting philosophical question. Are pancakes really pancakes in the absence of bacon? And what of sausage? Are waffles truly waffles in the absence of sausage?
And coffee. We can't forget the coffee.
Plus the syrup. The real stuff. From trees. Don't forget that...

Goddammit, now I'm going to spend money eating breakfast at Denny's. I don't see how I can't, after reading all that.

What about the crèpes?
There is no sweetness greater to the human body than that of the pancake.

Well I figured crepes were just glorified pancakes. Have I committed a crime worthy of the death penalty?

I shall make ready the stocks.
For your last meal, I suggest this plate of fresh crèpes with your choice of crushed berries or Nutella.

Holy crap - I just tried Nutella for the first time this past week. I think it took every single shred of my self-control to not eat the whole jar. DAMN that stuff is tasty.

Thats the worst part of those chocolate bread spreads - they arent much good on bread, they are better alone.
On a side note, its been years since I had a Fluffernutter - there was a time when we got it in South Africa. Now, living in London, I cant find mallow fluff, and I'm not sure its worth ordering over the internet.
Has anyone made baked donuts, instead of fried donuts? I'm going to experiment with those soon, found a few recipes online.

I thought someone created a new thread because this thread wasnt worthy as a place of waffle worship?
I think the reason had something to do with me including donuts, since I (being un American and thus heathen) do not see waffles and pancakes as breakfast food. It was heresy apparently.
