Would anybody be interested in an online game of classic D&D? As in, Basic Set Dungeons & Dragons, the one from 1977 with this rulebook:

I'm a bit of a collector of old D&D stuff (since that's where I got started) and thought it'd be fun to have a romp through one of the old modules I've picked up. The rules are absurdly simple compared to more recent D&D (3.5/4) and the game works well with a lot of players (it's almost required, since you die like Glass Joe to an uppercut.)

No promises yet, just seeing if the interest is out there.

Here's a link to the Acaeum's page on the old basic sets for the curious: http://www.acaeum.com/ddindexes/setpages/basic.html

Yeah, I know, it's more nostalgia fueled than practical, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

I've got the old blue box laying around someplace, but I haven't played since around 1978.

My son is pretty active these days though. I think they're playing 3.0 rules.

If you're looking for an easier way for the players to get ahold of the rules, there's Labyrinth Lord. (http://www.goblinoidgames.com/labyrinthlord.htm)

The rules are pretty much an exact clone of the original with only a few minor changes most players would never even notice, and the PDF version is totally free.

How about some classic Warhammer 40K?

Nice, Buddha :)

Is that back when there was only Space Marines and Eldar?

They had Orks and Squats, too.

Genestealers were just a random monster and programmed robots were an available troop selection.
