Yes, there's another release of Final Fantasy I & II on the way for another platform. This time, for iPhone / iPod Touch.

I saw this earlier. I think it's kind of cool but I've played FFI many times and never really got into FFII. The graphical and UI changes are interesting though. I'll be interested when it's IV-VI.

My problem with all the Final Fantasy ports is that they ruin the gloriously tight and sometimes cruel balance of the original. The PSX one is the only one I know of that didn't ruin it.

These might work because the games aren't twitch based (that I know of). Still, it wouldn't be my preferred platform.

I'd be very interested in these if I had an iPhone.

Do you have a Game Boy Advance or Nintendo DS / Lite that can play GBA games?

I've got a GBA that I haven't powered on in 3 years, but I think these would actually work pretty well on an iPhone. And I'd be carrying my phone everywhere, unlike the GBA which just sits in a desk drawer.

The graphics are nice but I dislike the font. Also, that lich looks more surprised than anything else.

I guess on the iPhone it would be pretty convenient, though.

Yeah, the kerning is terrible.

But you said you don't have an iphone, so you could get this for GBA for cheaper than an iphone :)

Video showing a little game play. Exactly what I was expecting.

I have a few versions of FF I&II. I have finished neither though. I wasn't sure if I would want this on my iTouch but just saw the screens with the menus...damn, I can see buying and enjoying them.

I really, really want to play through VI. Dabbled with it on emulators, but I'd love it on my Touch.

If you had an Android phone, you could play it already. (http://www.cyrket.com/p/android/com.androidemu.sneslite/) ;)

Mobile phones are the devil. I have a ridiculously cheap pay as you go phone out of necessity. I bought it last year, it was the first I've owned in about seven years. :D

That's what I've done for years, but I wanted a PDA, and it seemed redundant to carry around both a phone and a PDA when I could kill two birds with one stone. Just has taken me a bit to find a smartphone I like.

I'd be all over Android if they'd bring their market to Canada.

I've probably played FF1 completely more times than any other game I know. Think I've played almost every version except the PSP remake, though I did play FF1 on an NES emulator ON the PSP... does that count?

...I have to replay this NOW.

I happen to have both but I don't like playing games on my Droid. My Ipod Touch gets a ton of use.
