A Wii Defense Force tool can dream and slightly mislead his own thread, can't he? http://mazeguy.net/sad/melodramatic.gif (Gamekyo (http://www.gamekyo.com/newsen29281_monolith-software-working-on-a-new-rpg.html))

Well, I seriously doubt Nintendo bought an extremely qualified RPG developer just so they could create great action/adventure games.
Here's hoping for either BK3, or that Nintendo is putting them to work on a new Super Mario RPG.

This was a cool announcement. It'll be fun to see what Monolith ends up working on.

Yeah, I'd rather have Intelligent Systems do any work on future Mario console RPGs.

No way, Camalot does Nintendo sports RPGs, where as Intellegent Systems makes RPGs and is occasionally allowed to do thier own thing. We still need the Wario Wares and Rhythm Tengokus of the world.

Mario Golf Advance takes the cake for me.

I'd be fine with that. Camelot has proven that they can do great work outside of sports RPGs.

Mario Golf Advance takes the cake for me.You know, that's one of the things I really don't get about Nintendo. They have a working relationship with the esteemed developer of phenomenal RPG classics Shining Force and Golden Sun, and they set them to work on Mario Golf and Mario Tennis? Were sports games something Camelot was just itching to try out?
It's almost as head-scratching as buying Monolith -- creators of Xenosaga and Baten Kaitos -- and having them work on Disaster: Day of Crisis, an action/adventure game.
What's up with that? Next thing we know, they'll buy up Frontier and get them to work on the next Smash Bros. game.

Yes, they were. A couple of their leading designers are big sports fans.

I am not sure what the deal with that is, but I know that Mario Golf advance is easily my favorite GBA game. I had actually totally forgot that they developed Shining Force, thanks for reminding me.
Speaking of Camalot, where is my Golden Sun DS?
The Monolith one is truely a mystery. I was very excited to hear about it but have since sort of let it slip my mind since it has been so long since we have heard anything.
Frontier on SSB? Nah, it is still sidescrolling and might be too easy. They should have Frontier become thier flagship SRPG developer.

That position is already taken by Intelligent Systems - you know, the people who invented the genre with Fire Emblem.

The problem is, that would distract them from making a Wii version of Battleclash, which has got to be done.

Never played Baiten Kaitos. Methinks I should since I've heard nothing but praise for it. I too am wondering when the hell Camelot will pump out Golden Sun 3 (though what would they do with the narrative?). Intelligent Systems may have invented Strategy RPGs, they are definitely not the best at them.

Last but not least, it was confirmed yet again today that Monolith Soft is indeed working on more titles for the Wii and surprisingly, the team is “willing to start developing Baten Kaitos.”

NintendoEverything (http://www.nintendoeverything.com/?p=6632)They had certainly better be working on some kind of RPG. Like I said at the beginning of this thread: you don't purchase a renowned RPG developer and immediately put them to work on nothing but action games. I don't even care if it's BK3 or something entirely new. Just give me some quality RPGs.

Yasuyuki Honne, the series director of Baten Kaitos is teasing a new project. Even if it isn't related to the topic, it's worth necroing my thread. (Andriasang (http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2010/05/19/baten_katios_director_new_project/))
