I've been waiting to hear about this since the NGE hit Star Wars Galaxies, please let it be PC only and really, really good!

Things I hope to see in the game:

Space ships you can fly and fight with
A proper Light and Dark side for the Jedi
Kick-ass Mandalorians
Lots of races to play, including Gungans! (ok maybe not Gungans)
Fun crafting system
Good PvP
Large variety of character customization
Player houses and towns would be nice

If I hear it's console only my head will quite likely explode.

At lest it's set in a time they can reasonably make every one a jedi or at lest force sensitive... 'cus lets face it 90% of people do not play starwars games for any other reason than to be a jedi... the problem has always been that jedi should kick ass but "need" to be balanced against other classes or restricted. Both of which are bad for the game. So it's going to be interesting to see what they do.

Given that it's a kotor mmo i think they should take a cue from the games. Make every one a jedi use the jedi classes and have the same kind of dark/light side system. Then give every one a ship and a crew. You pick up your crew as you go along (higher level jedi more followers) and you get choices about what class they are and so on. It would be nice to have it that there are crew that you can only get if your dark or if your light and so on but it would also be rather nice that you could pull down some of your crew with you to the dark side if you fall from the light and so on. I would like to see party interaction in that way so you do have a crew with personality (could be stock personality and voices for each class male/female and dark/light but you get to pick what they look like and so on) but this is all very much wishful thinking beacuse its complex and it would be much easier just to do it other ways

-the four pillars: exploration, customization, combat, and ... STORY

-COMPANIONS ARE IN. "You can't have Han Solo without Chewbacca" is the analogy Greg uses. Companions will have own stories and quests, and you can manipulate them if you're an evil dark side duder

-BG2 is COMPLETELY DWARFED by this game (size-wise)

If there's one thing WoW has taught developers, it's that graphics only need to be "good enough" to support a well-designed MMO.

I dont know, I dont like people being Jedi or Sith in an MMO. That is why I liked SWG so much, because it was more about the universe then people wanting lightsabers.

I don't play WoW? I'm talking about how they're abandoning the single player game, which is as far as I'm concerned is what KotoR was all about. They're just slapping its name on here to get it to wash the foul taste of Galaxies out of the general public's mouths, and maybe sell a few more units then anything else with Star Wars slapped on the box. Though not even the strongest metaphorical Listerine could possibly wash the overwhelmingly horrible taste of Galaxies out of our mouths. To entirely rule out another KotoR game is IMO stupid, just so they can make this MMO. Well at least we still have Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

skiming the stuff about this... i don't know... i'm rather upset by the fact they've all but dismissed a 3rd single player game but i'm glad they are looking at story and companions but my gut feeling so far is that it's not going to work. Which is sad since i really really want it it... also the fact that there are other class's than just different type of jedi is going to bring the age old problems and given they seem you pick a alignment from the start we anit going to get that cool 'your actions effect who you are' even if they are saying there will be some of that the core aspect and idea will be missing

a mmo can never be as good story wise as a single player game... the kotor games where so amamzing beacuse of the story and the choice and the companions and while i'm glad they are trying to bring that to the MMO it won't be any where near as good as a kotor3 and they are dumping kotor3 for it... which makes me rather damn bitter if i'm honest. I knew this is what would happen.

The game sounds pretty promising to me, and I'll always trust BioWare until they give me a reason not to, which they haven't yet.

The only concern I have is that they are allowing people to play as Jedi/Sith. IMO, it just can't work. It would be like letting somebody play as Thrall in WoW. The Jedi and Sith are the toughest guys in the galaxy, so unless they are going to forget the lore completely, they can't make other classes competitive.
Also, do they really think anybody is not going to play a Jedi/Sith?
