I suppose time to get this rolling. This is the 2nd PAX that Colony of Gamers will be represented and finally Immortal Machines is officially recognized by PAX as well. So! Who's up for designing some logos for the shirts?

I believe "I heart civil" would work for both groups equally well.

I'm going to leave it up to whomever comes up with something. I suppose worse comes to worse we could black perm-marker white shirts.

Doesn't 2 shirts split up the community thing and make the whole shirts thing unnecessary. I could see this work if we showed up with 50 people, but I doubt that there will be that many of us.

Who said anything about two shirts? I was talking about 1 shirt that has IM and CoG. As far as I know, there are currently no shirts for this PAX. There are many going that haven't gone to PAX West so I made this thread as an opportunity to make ourselves some PAX East shirts.

I'm too lazy to make anything right now but my first thought would be that the front is just a big CoG logo with the IM 'gear' in the middle of it. Then on the back you have the Pax East logo

It's not great but it's going for a distressed concert poster feel. I figured it would look decent on a dark read shirt but anything is subject to tweaking.

Secondly, these con shirt threads always make me feel incredibly left out. I think I'd sell my soul to be able to go with you guys. I'd even wear the shirt that civ designed. :D

It's a bit busy, if you ask me. Focus should be on CoG/IM first, the PAX logo second. Also, the dates seem really unnecessary. Lastly, it seems really disjointed color-wise, with all the logos and pictures all thrown together, fighting for attention.
Just my 0.02, though :)

The image on there would be a good back print, maybe with a left chest logo with for COG/IM/PAXE?
I'm not an artist, or graphic designer -- but just not sure how a front print of the above would look.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I gave it a bit more of a concert poster feel and I haven't distressed it yet (I'll use the same mask as the first or a better one) but here's the new layout.

As far as printing goes, it's significantly cheaper to get one solid block done than to do multiple areas.
The shop I know of can likely do these for 15$ a shirt at quantities less than 25.
I'll also post a high rez pdf of the finished design that's "print ready" if you want to find a different place to print it.

I agree, while it is pretty damn good, it feels cluttered, even with the changes. The exact date doesn't really need to be there, but I'm not quite sure what the proper layout would be without it.

Yeah. It's concert postery, allows me to balance the clunky PAXEAST logo, and I can't think of anything better to put there.
I could do a big blocky "2010" to the right of the paxeast and move it over or some sort of cheesy promotional line.
I know what you're saying, tensy, I'm just not coming up with a good way to bust it up right now.

I'm having a local printer here in Orlando make IM staff shirts for PAX East. I am also going to take MightBe's design with me to get a quote on these shirts getting made. Does anybody else have a local reasonable t-shirt printer that you could get a quote from?
To get these shirts made for us, we're going to need some people to step up and be pro-active about getting them made. It would be cool to have more than just me so that we can get the best prices per shirt.

I whored myself out to a friend's print shop for about 10 hours in order to get a good deal on the shirts. I don't have the time to go do that right now so I'm guessing they won't be able to get them done in time with spring coming (they do lots of sports uniforms).

OK, I went to the custom shirt place today to get the IM shirt done. Their pricing is $19 for polo and $16 for t-shirt. That is for white with single image. For color other than white is $1 additional. For every X above L is $1. To get front and back image is $5 additional. Please let me know if you're interested.

White T: 16
XL: +1
Front and back: +5
With Mightbe's COG shirt on the back, and the Colony Cog on the front. I couldn't find a high rez of the cog, can I assume one of you guys has it?

Here is the IM shirt I had made. How I'll be doing the CoG shirt this weekend will be the same except with MightBe's graphic on the back and then my handle over the CoG on the front left breast. You can see the layout with these IM shorts how I'll be setting up the front. MightBe's graphic will be setup in correct ratio on the back. I'll only be using that graphic as having text above stating "Colony Of Gamers" would be repetitive.

So to get a black t-shirt, front and back, XL-$23? Is that correct?

That's correct.
Base T-Shirt with single print = $16
Non-White = +$1
Double Print = +$5
Each X over L = $1
Total = $23
For the coloring, I'm going to have the guy run some test prints. Because the process melts the ink into the fabric, the image will take on qualities of the fabric. I'll work with the shirt artist to come out with the best design while attempting to keep MightBe's original vision of the completed shirt.

For those wanting to order shirts, I'm going to go ahead and open the orders up. Please send me a PM detailing the following:
Type of shirt (t-shirt or polo)
Color of shirt (standard color)
Size of shirt (s to xxxl)
For the printing I'll need to know if you want your handle or name on the left breast IF you opt to do a double sided printing. Double sided printing will consist of MightBe's art on the back and the COG logo on the left breast. If you want to do a single sided printing, it will be MightBe's art on the back of the shirt.
Even if you have told me already via this thread, in a txt message, in person, on the phone or over Skype I will still need you to send me a PM for the final order verification. I will then confirm that order and give you the account information for the cash exchange.
ORDERS WILL BE CLOSED ON FRIDAY, MARCH 19 AT 4:00PM EST (GMT -5)

In all reason, it is actually quite easy to get one of these shirts made yourself. If you have access to a local printer that can do single custom shirt prints, you just need the graphics and then you can get a shirt made. It is too late to use my printer in Orlando though but I don't doubt that you'd be able to find a business that can do it for you.

Naw, there's no blame anywhere. We run what is, more or less, a coop here. Each person did their part to get things done. I wasn't expecting to get the shirts printed but when I saw there wasn't going to be anybody else able to produce them, I took the reigns, made the post about my intentions and posted the pricing soon after. Even Xoanon checked to see if he could get a local printer to do them but he couldn't find anybody reasonable. Once I verified with the printer that they could do volume shirts, I popped up the ordering process and voila 18 shirts were ordered. :)
If you didn't get a shirt made, there is still plenty of time to get one made for yourself. MightBe and I both have the graphics so that you may take them to a local custom shirt printer and get a shirt made. I don't have the time available anymore to go to my shop and get anymore shirts made, that's why I had the 4pm cutoff on Friday.
I posted the shirt pricing on 3/13. I didn't receive any PMs or EMails on how to send me cash for shirt ordering for four days. I then followed up with another post on 3/17 describing exactly how to order with nice underlined bold text and red bold telling when the orders had to be cutoff. The first shirt order I recieved was on 3/17 at 10:00am and the last was on 3/19 at 2:35pm. All shirts were put in to the printer at 4:15pm and all shirts were printed by 5:30pm. I checked one last time before I left the printer to see if anybody else ordered, even had this thread subscribed in case anybody was asking questions... All was silent so I finished up the order and left.

Honestly, I have no idea. I was anxious to get in and play some games, since I had played little up until that point, so that may have had something to do with it.
I was easy to spot, I wore a Dr. Girlfriend shirt Friday, Starcraft-Protoss shirt from original game, then #24 Venture Bros shirt Sunday. Many comments ensued. Blizzard/Nvidia guys were impressed with the Protoss shirt.
Voodoo, I see you made it home okay. I saw the Tornado warning/Tornado in the Miami area Monday.
