This looks all kinds of amazing. On Fantasy Flights webpage Fantasy Flight (http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/at-43/)
Anyone play this. The mini's look amazing and the reviews I am seeing look like this could be a blast.

Yeah, I've tried it out and enjoyed it. It gained a bit of popularity around here for a while, and the models are very nice looking for a prepainted game.
Unfortunately, like many other games out there these days, it's fate is currently up in the air (http://www.tabletopgamingnews.com/2008/10/16/18479). Fantasy Flight recently announced that they will no longer be distributing it, or any other Rackham products, which leaves many to wonder what's going to happen to AT-43.

Ya I am more intersted in using the models for some Heroscape campagining that we do. We are in the middle of a massive 4 week battle and the main badguy piece shattered under the hefty foot of a gamer.

Those are pretty amazing looking, but a bit pricey for me. I'm thinking about getting Heroscape for my kids for Christmas, and perhaps the Marvel set for the game as well.

You can not go wrong my friend. Personally I like the original sets a bit better, they come with far more minatures, but the cost is very low for expansion sets(9 bucks for the small ones) and putting the landscape together is a1 steaksauce fun.

I got into AT-43 (I have a pretty big collection of Therians, my friend some UNA), and I REALLY like the system. It's certainly not perfect, but the unique activation sequence and some of the combat drills add a level of tactics that most other games don't have, IMO. I just wish more people around here played...
And if you need cheap figures, just keep an eye on eBay. I bought most of my models on the extreme cheap by being patient for some good deals. Unit boxes for $10! :D

I blew about $400 on AT-43 stuff, but can never find anyone to play, even with me supplying an army. It's a great game with wonderful minis and a very easy to learn combat system, but I think it's got some severe balance issues, as both games I've played had me getting completely bowled over by the Therians... the UNA never even had a chance. My whole army was broken and wiped out and I think the therians lost like 2 regular soldiers. Their ability to spend points to respawn and also to repair damaged armored units makes them damn near invincible, and some of their armored units have such high armor ratings that most of the normal UNA weapons can't even hurt them even on a perfect roll.

Yeah, I've heard it's got some balance issues. It's probably why they have been having such a hard time getting any type of working organized play system really going with it.

I really want to chalk it up to me not having any clue about actually playing the game, but yeah, things really do seem very unbalanced in favor of the therians. They have better armor, requiring higher rolls to hit. They have better weapons, so they hit on lower die rolls, and they can respawn and heal as long as the played has the points to spend, which they always do with a good hero on the board.
I want to play with someone that's really well-versed in the game system, to correct any of my own misconceptions about the game.
