Every year I find a game that I played the previous year and play through it all the way. Enjoying it almost as much as the first one.
What is the game you are planning on returning to in 2010 that you played and finished in 2009 and what is bringing you back
Game-For me it's Fallout 3. I beat it and have been away long enough that Mods have matured, the DLC is out and returning to the world seems right.
Reason- I hated Fallout 3 at first calling it a brown boredom simulator but with everyone continuing to tell me I was stupid for ignoring it I went back. The world, every hill just screams content, every bad guy could be a hassle if you didn't juggle weapons, ammo and such as you should. Less bugs than Oblivion made me feel that playing it would not be as stressful as Oblivion and I was right. EPIC FUN.
What about you guys?

I don't plan on returning to any games in 2010, but for the past 4 years I've been replaying a Final Fantasy over winter break. Of course, I don't have a winter break next year so I don't know what I'll do. I'm sure I'll play through Super Metroid 2-3 times again like I have every year. Probably will do the same with Metroid Prime.
I will continue to play Borderlands through the beginning of 2010.

Normally there are several games to go back to. I would say the only game from 2009 that I plan to go back to is Dragon Age. Dragon Age will have more DLC and I want to try going the other direction with the choices I made in my first play through.

Usually I do the same (I went back through Dead Space and GTAIV from the beginning again this year), but probably not for any '09 games.
Going through my list, this year I completed 23 retail games and only 5 were 2009 releases. Of those 5 I will probably only go back to Assassin's Creed 2 for DLC, but I won't play through it again. Unless FIFA '09 counts. :D
There are a few released this year I haven't got to yet though, like Dragon Age, Infamous, Borderlands and ODST.

Too many games to be replaying ones that I just beat.
However, I'll be replaying God of War I & II, and I play Space Channel 5 about twice a year.

I will be playing Fallout 3 for the 3rd year (2008, 2009, 2010) and I'm only on my first playthrough. I just purchased Point Lookout and Broken Steel during the XBL sale for $5 each, so that will give me even more content. I'm at level 19 I think and still haven't beaten the storyline.
I might also put in Oblivion to finish up Shivering Isles. Had the game installed for over a year and still haven't played much of it.
And I will probably try to play Mass Effect again. I couldn't stomach it all the way through the first time but I should be ready to try again.
Other games: Blue Dragon, Dead Space, etc etc. I have many games I started but never finished.
Also, should I fix my PC, Arcanum, Baldur's Gate II and Divine Divinity all are screaming at me for another playthrough. And like pomeroy, I hope to replay God of War 1 and 2 this year by purchasing the GoW collection for PS3.

I have had a Dead Space hankering for awhile, so I might load that up in the near future. Maybe re-roll a new character in Fallout 3 as well; play a bad morale campaign. I still have to do Point Lookout and the Mothership DLC.

Uncharted 2 Because it's one of the best games ever made and I still need to beat it on Hard and Crushing. :)
Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time Platformers are so rare, and this one is so damn fun. I need to make a run at the Challenge Mode.
Demon's Souls I need to start up a New Game + and go through all of that masochistic fun all over again. So many spells to learn and weapons to make.
Super Mario Galaxy With the second coming out I'm going to have to play through this again, a new Mario game is so welcome.
Those are almost sure things, I've been seriously thinking about going through Dead Space again, and trying the Survivor difficulty in Bioshock.

Uncharted 2 probably, cause it's awesome, and not that big compared to other timesinks.

Oh, and probably Bionic Commando (360). My gushing of it in the Weekend Gamer thread was enough--I won't have to go into detail about it here. But I'll probably attempt Commando mode, which is supposed to be the hardest.

For me it's easy. Uncharted 2. I could play that until my thumbs bleed. It's got the perfect amount of cut scenes, perfect amount of action, perfect amount of adventure and perfect amount of stealthing...

I have do add Super Mario Galaxy to my list of returning games. I can not believe how much I loved the first and I do not like Mario games. But it was fantastic.

Mass Effect. I have to get my 'good girl' playthrough from 360 recreated on my PC.
Umm...I don't know about the rest. With all these sales and my new PS3, there's a lot to keep my attention.

Of games I've actually finished? Probably only Uncharted 1. I just played 3 consecutive runs of Uncharted 2, so I'm done with that for a while other than multiplayer.
I'm actually going to try and focus on finishing games that I started, but for some reason or another, never quite completed. I've got a pretty big list going right now, which should mean that by the time I'm ready to pick up all the new games from next year, they'll have dropped in price.

Demon's Souls - I didn't really play it enough when I first got it back in February, so I'm definitely going back to it.
Mass Effect - Need to get my (PC) char up to level 60 for the ME2 bonus :)

Thinking of picking up Fallout 3 for PC, even though I have it for 360, to see how nice all of these mods are. Also going to hit Oblivion again to finally finish the rest of the achievements, and maybe pick up the rest of the DLC for it. Also going to 100% the rest of the Metroid Prime Trilogy.
In fact, I might just try to power through all of the achievements that I am capable of getting but haven't finished yet.

Torchlight and Uncharted 2 for me. Probably New Super Mario Bros. as well, assuming I beat it before the end of the year.

Probably Assassin's Creed 2. I know I can pull off a lot of those assassinations better than I did the first time and thanks to them crippling the replay feature I'll have to do a full playthrough to get another shot.

Demon's Souls will continue to be played until they shut the servers down. Valkyria Chronicles will definitely be revisited since I haven't finished all the DLC.

My gaming pile of shame is not unplayed games it's unfinished games.... Sigh. But I got dmons souls for Xmas and it's been a long time since I have had this much fun hating myself. The killer part of that game is the " just one more run to get my souls back..... At way to late at night"

Uncharted 2 for me too (and probably UC1). I want to get all the treasures and attempt to get all the trophies. UC2 is about as perfect as a game can get. And since I hope to get my HD TV in 2010, I'll have to replay it just for that. :)

Certainly, I need to get through another play of Mass Effect, to set up my Shepard for number 2 next month. I've yet to complete Banjo-Kazooie N&B and I just got my copy of Batman AA back from a friend. I've been jonseing for that one in particular something rotten.

Oh, and I will do my best to beat FFXII finally. I never seem to finish it off.

Mass Effect. I have to get my 'good girl' playthrough from 360 recreated on my PC.
This for me as well, except I was a naughty girl...
Oh, and I just bought the Civ 4 complete package from the Steam sale, so I'm all set to throw another few hundred hours at them.
Seriously, Civ games are like crack. Turn based crack.

My gaming pile of shame is not unplayed games it's unfinished games.... Sigh.My gaming pile of shame includes both unplayed and unfinished games. Lots of them. So I probably won't be going back to the few finished games I've got, excluding perennial favorites like Civ. IV and SimCity 4 that always get played off & on throughout the year.

Fallout 3. I have Broken Steel to finish.
Mirror's Edge. I made it to the 8th chapter then became to frustrated. I bought it for $10 recently so now i'll have a chance to finish.
Fable. I'll finish this eventually.
Persona 4. Started this twice, another i'm going to finish.
Yakuza 2. Why did I put this down?

I need to go back and play through Dragon Age a few more times. I have quite a few PSN games that I've bought but hardly played too, Trine and Critter Crunch being the big ones.

I'm going to try to finish up Xenosaga 3 and Persona 3 at some point this year. I'd really like to finish P3 before the PSP port comes out so I can talk myself out of buying it :)
And I need to fire up Fallout 3 again and play through Broken Steel. It and a few lingering side-quests are all I have left to do, at least on a formal level.

God of War 1 and 2 via the God of War Collection on PS3. I want to knock both of them out again before the third arrives in March. Beyond that, I may follow the lead of a few others and fire up Super Mario Galaxy and play through the game as Luigi.
Persona 3 for me. And Devil Survivor. I'm on the final day of DS but the demons I have require such a grind before tackling the first boss in order to be effective and I have no Hard Battle option given my level so the exp comes in such slow waves that it just takes that much longer. Persona 3 is also a matter of grinding.
Those are the only two games I have that I need to get back to. Everything else I'm either currently playing (Dragon Age, Brutal Legend) or haven't even started yet.

The games I will return to on a regular basis is Rock Band and L4D1. Yeah L4D2 is technically superior, but I enjoy the levels and characters more in L4D1 better. The game has more character, charm, and is just more fun IMHO.
Edit: And I will probably play Oblivion again some time this year. That game just never seems to get old.

3 guys in our gaming group decided to all go back to Jade Empire.
1 hasn't ever played it and both myself and my other pal have. I love playing vids at the same time as others. Tonight will be awesome:)
