View Full Version : 360 E-80 Error?

I turned on my 360 this morning for the first time in probably 3-4 weeks (to update FFXI so that I can maybe find time to play tonight) and after hanging at the 360 logo for about 20 seconds it gives me a message in about 15 different languages saying I need to call tech support with an E-80 code. I was able to power it down then start it directly back up and it booted just fine (though the sign in to LIVE seemed to take longer than normal), but that doesn't exactly leave me feeling confident.

So, anyone else get this? How long do I have exactly? The last thing I need to do right now is buy a new 360 as it's essentially become a dedicated FFXI machine, but damn, I do want to play Alan Wake and Crackdown 2 next year. :(

From reading the various forums around the 'net, it's an update error. It doesn't seem like it's a indication of a future death of your Xbox.

That's what I've seen, but there wasn't an update for the 360 at all, so that makes it weird. It just makes me paranoid, I've had a ton of stuff randomly break this year, I don't need another one.

I misread. I thought you updated to play FFXI. Well get out some lucky charms (not the cereal :)) to ward off any evil MS spirits :)

Best of luck with it.
