I usually don't support Gamestop all that much, but with this deal I was able to pay off my next three games (Fable 2, FarCry 2, Fallout 3...getting LBP and GoW2 from elsewhere).

Every 2 games of 360/PS3/Wii games you trade in you get an extra $10 in credit. Totally trumps any 20%-30% extra trade in they have going for pre-orders unless you have a lot of over $25 trade-ins.

Oh yeah, deal ends 11/2 I believe.

Damn. I might jump on this with the overage of old 360 games I have. No sense in keeping the first Gears around, I guess.

Is there a coupon or code needed?

Good stuff. Will be trading in a bunch of oldies for Fable 2.

No coupon needed, traded in Too Human and TNA Impact! and got Dead Space last Friday.

Yeah, the Gamestop computer does it for you. Not only did I do this on about 12 games, but I also signed up for GI and got an extra 10% in credit. I think in the end I had over $180 in trade-in between 12 games, so $60 of that came off of this with $120 on the games themselves.

Blasphemy...people still play Halo 2 to this day.

I hate that they pair GI with the Edge card and there is no way to get Edge without GI....it usually winds up in the garbage.

Eh, let'em. I don't...and I don't play much Halo 3 come to think of it.

Hmm...I wonder if those Burger King games can count towards that extra $10.

Cool...I've got some old stuff I may get rid of when I go pick up Fable tomorrow.

Well, I had the option to subscribe or not. I decided to get the extra 10% credit in return for a $14.99 subscription and 10% extra credit every time I trade stuff in.

I have to say the workers there were really nice, I might start to integrate myself back into the evil Gamestop corporation if they continue to treat me as an equal peer and not as a person to try to pawn off pre-orders to.

Depends what their trade-in value is. If it is below $1 it cannot be included in the $10 deal.

This is the page I always find out about their current deals going on in-store (http://www.ebgames.com/gs/specialty/tradeins/offers.aspx).

It won't last...I used to have a good Gamestop around the launch of the 360. I knew the manager and the assistant manager and that continued when the assistant manager became manager. Hell at one point I even trusted one of the guys to bring a game to where I worked after their midnight launch ended because I worked late that night (it was already paid in full, he just brought the game and receipt.) Now though they have a completely different staff who treat me just like any other Gamestop treats their customers....I have since given up on those stores and only use them when I have to.

Well, the one guy there was like, "I've worked here for a lot of years". I had a situation much the same as you around the 360 release. It was an EBGames and it hadn't yet been bought out by Gamestop. I knew the manager and several workers and I was #8 on the 360 list. Manager changed week of 360 release and many workers were reassigned to other stores and somehow I got on the 3rd shipping list for 360s even though I had paid in full. That's the short story...

GI isn't all that terrible. Some of their feature stories have actually been pretty informative.

I know some of the guys that write for GI (the magazine is based here in MN). They are a good magazine, I just think it has been tainted since it has been fused together with Gamestop since it was Funcoland way back when.

Only time I remember reading it actually was for the Batman game recently. Thing is with most GI exclusive stories the news hits the internet usually a week or so before I get the magazine.

I thought that GI was a stack of advertisements and badly written arguments? I'm not trying to troll here, just what I have widely heard. Does anyone else have anything to say about GI, preferably someone who subscribes?

I have read it off and on (brother-in-law subscribed to it for a while). I would say they have more in-depth stories in one issue than EGM does, although I somewhat enjoy EGM more. GI has had a lot of exclusives before others have. They were the ones to first show off Assassin's Creed (and technically the first picture of Jade Raymond and the huge AC team), Dead Space, Resistance 2 and Fallout 3 for instance even before online sites had it.
