View Full Version : Name change?
Vigil80

Someone suggested I post this here. If it's not too much trouble, might I get a name change? I'd like to simplify things and change it to my Live ID, Vigil80
Would it change my login also?
Thanks much.

I was thinking of going with Sir Adam Bluestein or Bubbles.
Maybe Antidisestablishmentarianism Honorificabilitudinitatibus. Or, Ant Horny for short.

Aw geez. I'm not trying to start some epidemic of name change requests. Just thought it'd be nice. I'd delete the post if the option was still there. :(

He should at least for a while put who he used to be in his signature or as his title so people aren't confused.

You shut your face! There are no carnage's but me, for I am the one and only true carnage.
Interesting enough, if you google carnage11 there are two entries on google's first page. Me from here and me from EvAv.

Personally I was going to let the thread drag for a bit and get to him, then do the name change. ;) Doc's nicer than I am though.

I liked it originally because it was something that wouldn't already be taken, and was a half rhyme with "vigilante." But nobody ever seems to get it.
People I meet on Live tend to call me virgil, vy-gil, or vagina. :(

I think that has less to do with your name and more to do with the fact that it's Live. ;)

Yeah, it's true. No name is safe from the verbal contortions of anonymous internet lameasses.
Oh yeah, virgin. That comes up a lot too.

They probably can't think of any other words that start with a V that could be insulting.
I'd expect things like "V-gayzor". Hell, many might not even know that "Vigil" is a word to begin with. Then again, I don't own a 360 because of how much I hate Live, so my extremely biased opinion is hardly an accurate assessment. :D

At least your name isn't one letter away from Stroke. You have no idea how creative people can be. :(

As long as you were joking, then I'm ok. Otherwise I was going to cry myself to sleep tonight.

On Live I've been called Camage. wtf is camage?
I actually prefer Prizefighter, but hey....it's your name not mine. :p

Bannings should start with those with 9000+ posts so they can be rehabilitated from internet abuse

Banning the official Mascot of CoG? Never!
Speaking of which, we really ought to put a gnome in that spaceship on the site banner. :p

After all, I did get blasted up in a rocket ship during Half-Life 2: Episode 2.

People can't pronounce my handle; i.e. in TF2 last night when some people tried. Thinassmoose works fine for times like that, I guess.

Every once in awhile I'd get called a wetback since my name tag is BrowncoatElvio. Little did they know....

Hey, I liked the name too, but too generic. One name for the boards, another for the consoles, and yet another for the PC? Kinda inelegant. But you fellas are free to refer to me in your favorite manner. I'll still respond. :D

No, none of it was unexpected, Just sharing my pain, like group therapy. :p
