- Filings with the USPTO indicate that Sony's still unnamed motion sensing controller (the Magic Wand for want of a better name) will be capable of using several different attachments (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6242642.html?part=rss&tag=gs_news&subj=6242642), including flashlights, biometric sensors and even a microphone.

Oh, yay, more accessories for accessories... -_-
Now, some of them I get (at least, they're no worse than what Nintendo is doing), but, honestly, what in the hell am I going to use a flashlight attached to a game controller for?

What a strangely appropriate fit for a Deadpool movie. This movie might just turn out to be better than the abortion Deadpool was originally introduced in to the world at large.

You know I played the game, I'm familiar with what was the story, or string of occurrences for Marcus Fenix. I think a movie focusing on Emergence Day would kick ass.

You and me both. Don't retell me a story I already played through. Give me something that simply wouldn't work as a game.

I got a bad feeling about the Gears of War movie.
There is a bit of horror during Emergence Day, as the planet was at war or something.. then fucking monsters out of the ground and soon after a new world government formed.
Yeah, I read the instruction manual, it had the plot.

No.
I don't even like Gears, hate it in fact, but whenever I see those words, giant klaxons go off in my head that scream "PRETENTIOUS DOUCHEBAG DIRECTOR ALERT!"
I got the same reaction to the WoW movie when Sam Raimi showed up and dumped the script because he had "his own vision" for the movie.
There are times I really do agree with the school of thought in stage theater that says that the director should not be a creative position.

So the Gears movie will have the cast of Dawson's Creek/One Tree Hill, running around being idiots? I'll pass.

Similarly, every time I see a foley artist talking about making sounds and shit, I think, "THE GAFFER MUST BE A RAGING IDIOT!"

a flashlight attachment for Sony's magic wand would be worthwhile... but so would a bottle opener and a drink mixer.

It's cheap to film everything with a handycam. Hell I think I'm gonna film my vision tonight with some slugs from the garden and lots of neckshots.

Actually, this is the quote that made me go... huh?
"I think we really want to focus on the idea of a world that's running well and then it's Emergence Day."
Umm... Sera was NOT running well. It was in the middle of the Emmulsion Wars when these freaking monsters came up from the ground, and the humans said "oh shit... maybe we should not fight each other, but instead fight these other things that look just like us, but nastier?"
*sigh*
Things like this make me glad the Halo movie wasn't made. I don't know if a video game movie CAN be made without f@#king it up anymore. =(

Heh, there has only been 1 movie close to accurate, and that was Silent Hill. And that was even an original cast of characters that followed the style and pacing of the Silent Hill games.
Games don't make for good movies and thank god for that.

Ugh.... just make a Modern Warfare military game where the premise is to shoot ZOMBIES and you'll have the best selling game in both the history and future of the planet. Sad.

Even that movie wasn't innocent... it was all fine and well until three quarters in and then BAM! Shitty conclusion.
Odd that the very part of the movie that deviated from the game ended up being scrutinized.

Yes, I have! I was playing co-op with a buddy, and I don't remember the cut scenes being all that special. It sounded like a bunch of garbage to me, but seriously if you enjoy it, then more power to you. :)

I don't think anyone "enjoys" the story of Gears, as one might "enjoy" the stories of Heinlein. I think it was more about swinging for the low-hanging fruit. (Insert obvious puns here.)

That doesn't sound retarded at all.

I always welcome some Lance Henricksen. I'm kind of surprised he is still a live. Still making Alien and Pumpkinhead shit too.

25% of game buyers in November did not have another generic FPS game on hand.

Yeah, that is exactly what Gears fans want... a Cloverfield clone. Worked so well with that shitty Halo 3 comic too.

Win! I've also heard that Deadpool will have his proper costume, he will still be played by Ryan Reynolds, and he will be a loud-mouthed character that is accurate to the comics at least in terms of dialog. Sounds solid to me.
