Sadly I found that #2 is a let down if you liked the first. It runs pretty poorly and the interface which was actually pretty ok in the 1st is a strange mix of weird fonts and even less info than the first.

I couldn't get into the first Sacred, way too buggy. Five minutes out of town and I ran into immortal kobolds that didn't attack back. I figured if they couldn't get their shit together right at the starting post, the rest of the game was going to be an incoherent mess and gave up on it. The sequel however looks interesting so I'm eagerly awaiting some reviews on it.

How much have you played? How many hours into it?

hmm I would say me and teh wife have done 5 hours....lots of little quests hidden away in buildings so its good to go in the buildings....lots of tutorial quests right now...going to a big city next....kinda excited to see what that will be like. I have been swarmed a couple times by a bunch of creatures but my guy can summon these shades that fight for me, they get better as you level and they fight hard.

Sounds pretty good! I need to find someone to co-op with. Then again I'm trying to find someone to co-op Left 4 Dead with as well, so far got two people.
It's sad that most of my friends will only use pirated versions. :/

I'm holding out hope that the console versions of this are good.

Its a good fun game, but for some reason I don't see these guys doing a good console version. Lack of experience I guess who knows.

It's been scheduled for November for PS3/360 for a while, but after hearing that the PC version has numerous bugs, I'm kinda doubting that's going to happen. From looking at the game it does look like something that would work well on a console.

And the console version has been delayed (http://www.gamesdog.co.uk/news/news.phtml/8177/9201/Sacred-2-delayed-Q1-2009.phtml) until next year. Shocking.

Want to take bets it gets delayed into "canceled"?
I tried the demo for it, it just felt offputting and the UI was odd, too bad as I wanted to like it. So I could play as the robot dog thing.

Ignore the demo, the actual game is good. It runs fine on my machine though, I guess if it doesn't run as well on your machine itw ould not be as fun.

So anyone else got anything to add?
Or for those people who do have it, how's your play experience now that you've gotten deeper into it?

Why don't you buy it and come back with your impressions so that the rest of us don't have to risk our money on a questionable game? ;)

Ghostbear, bapenguin and myself played some Sacred 2 last weekend. Gotta say, it's fun and boring at the same time. My main issue comes with the UI interface, half the time I have to use the "?" boxes because I have no idea what anything does. And the fonts all seem crazy small. I've also had a quest or two bug out on me. And in the multiplayer, we were getting pretty bad lag considering it was just the 3 of us all sticking together.
Those issues aside, I was enjoying the combat, grind, loot and a ton of quests over an open world, etc. I'm also excited to see how things change at the higher levels, as bap had mentioned he'd seen shots with giant monsters and Ghostbear confirmed that combos become essential in the end-game.
So I'm around level 8 or 9 right now, I'll probably play it on and off over the coming months, we'll see how it develops.

Or not. ;)
I have enough games to play as it is without dropping $50 on a title that some say is very buggy and others say is fantastic. I'll wait for a big price drop at the very least, or maybe a Steam weekend sale.

Picked this up last night on Steam and I must say, so far I'm enjoying it a helluva lot more than Titan Quest. The open world model and deep character customization really appeals to me, and so far is paying off in the gameplay. The interface is a tad clunky, but once you get the keys mapped the way you like, it's very smooth and looks fantastic. Also, the fact that the developers are adding new bits of content on a fairly regular basis made me even more eager to buy.
Perhaps my enthusiasm will wane the more I play, but so far, so good. Any up for some co-op at some point?

Yeah, there's a PC demo, I played the hell out of it before finally picking the full game up.

Well atm I'm playing the shit out of Fable 2 and loving it. I got a ton of old games to trade in and was considering picking up Last Reminant, Sacred 2, Force Unleashed and Left 4 Dead...

Hey I'm up to level 27 or so single player....lots of fun and pretty bug free if you update it.
Demo is okay, though the camera could be improved. I just bought sacred gold of gog.com, depending how that goes I might buy sacred 2 later.
