It's not Friday, it's not five-to-five, and this is certainly not Crackerjack. Despair not, though, as this is much better than that - it's CoG's weekly roundup. Both you and I know that you've probably missed some breaking news during the previous week; it's my job to bring those stories to you.
Without further ado, I'll begin by posing a question - what do Dead Space and Microsoft's appalling quality control have in common? Click here (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=1278) to find out. Oh, but it doesn't end there... (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=1375) Seriously, Microsoft, get your shit together.
Anyway, moving on to better and brighter things. Our very own Andrew (Siraris) started the week off wonderfully well with the news that the game based on the popular board game Talisman has officially been kicked to the curb (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=1026).
Wait, better and brighter... Let me check the archives...
Here we go. Lord British (aka Richard Garriott) was blasted into space (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=1048). Just 'cos. No news of his return, or even whether he plans to.
In other good news, the fate of Ghostbusters has been decided - by Atari, of all companies (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=1201). Atari! Plea to the Atari management - please let ZootFly continue without interference.
From the rumor department comes word that Rare may be about to breathe the kiss of life into Killer Instinct (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=1272).
Speaking of Killer Instinct, Blizzard announced that their next MMO will NOT be a sequel to World of Warcrart (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=1385). It's also going to be "different". Reps from Blizzard could not be reached for comment on the rumor that there are plans for the new MMO to PAY YOU to play.
Speaking of Killer Instinct... Wait, I've done that already... Hmm... Oh!
My favorite piece of news this week was the rumor that Starbreeze Studios may be working on a new entry in the Syndicate series for Electronic Arts (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=1347). The thought of the people responsible for Escape from Butcher Bay and The Darkness working on a Syndicate game for 'the new EA' almost had me choking with glee.
What else happened this past week? Oh, yeah - the resurfacing (and subsequent squashing) of the perpetual MGS4 to Xbox 360 saga (http://www.colonyofgamers.com/cogforums/showthread.php?t=1326). It's now more apparent than ever that Metal Gear Solid was designed from the get-go to take advantage of the superior Xbox 360 technology. How much longer can Sony silence Konami?
Well that about wraps up a fairly uneventful week. It's time for me to go lie down.
