I think Incredible Hercules has just been one long awesome moment. If I had to pick one, it'd be Herc vs Thor (http://scans-daily.dreamwidth.org/1052905.html?#cutid1).

Well we can pick out a large share of moments from Herc; the Atlantean nut-punch, the "thumbs up", "My hammer...works just fine", etc.
Besides that, Blackest Night #1:
The Hawk murders, which was shocking without being exploitative, especially if you read 52.
For the benefit of all the trade waiters.
Pulls:
Blackest Night The Flash #1 (OF 3)
Blackest Night Wonder Woman #1 (OF 3)
Cinderella From Fabletown With Love #2 (OF 6)
Dark Avengers Annual #1
Fall Of Hulks Alpha
Jack Of Fables #40

Superman World Of New Krypton #10 (OF 12)
Sweet Tooth #4
The Marvels Project #4 (OF 8)
Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #5
EDIT:
The ending of Unwritten #1 was also a great moment.

QOTW:
Wow, Thats a toughie, I'm gonna say one of them was in Blackest Night: Superman, when you see his emotional state and its all of them. Even compassion for the one he is about to pound. That just screamed the Man of Steel to me.

Oh, The Mighty is full of great moments, to many to post and certainly spoilerish if you arent reading it. But why aren't you, you douchebags!

The Mighty will likely end up as my official "Why aren't you bastards reading it" book of the year.

Millar and McNiven have broken their silence about "Nemesis (http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=23934)". It's not Marvelman, it's not the X-Men or Avengers. It's an Icon book with the unofficial tagline of "What if Batman, was the Joker?" Basically what if a rich, driven billionaire genius was an anarchist with a mad on for one particular cop.

So, basically Ra's Al Ghul minus the hard on for one particular cop? Or basically Thomas Elliott before he lost all his money minus the hard on for one particular cop?
Buckley says it hasn't been done before, but it has. It's just that the villain has not been the headliner on the book (well, except for Irredeemable, but that is more if Superman was an asshole).

Er, The Mighty is if "Superman was an asshole". Irredeemable is "What if Superman just fucking got sick of the motherfucking punks getting up all in his shit!cocksuckers". Well, without the profanities.
I am excited about Nemesis because the idea sounds crazy. And when Millar gets crazy, he goes "flash. bang. boom. Ratatatatatata". Its like watching Crank on page.
EDIT:
Better tagline, from the interview: "What if Batman was a total cunt?"
Like Kick-Ass, its probably going to act as a storyboard for a much better movie.

Uggghh that Millar book sounds awful. I dont know why I expect better out of that guy. He always disappoints.

Oh, and DC is launching "Earth One (http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/2009/12/07/dcu-in-2010-welcome-to-earth-one/)"; a new line of OGNs divorced from continuity but written by big names (JMS & Shand Davis on Superman, Johns & Frank on Batman). Now we know why the All-Star line went bye-bye.
muddi900

I was going to make a thread about it but seeing as the comics threads fizzle when Blackest Night isn't out, I said meh.
Real excited to for the Johns/Frank Batman.
EDIT: The All-star line went bye bye because Frank Miller can't write to save his life.

Bah, All-Star Bats was awesome (http://i287.photobucket.com/albums/ll125/mysteryfan/asbar%20bc/dp2.jpg).

Isn't All-Star Bats still coming out or did they totally can it?

The Mighty is fucking awesome.
Also, I'm cautiously optimistic about the Earth One thing. Batman's outfit looks kinda frumpy. But Alfred looks cool.

I love Shane Davis' art, its great stuff. He did the Mystery in Space mini a few years ago.

It doesn't matter if you keep repeating it, it wouldn't become true.

He is also responsible for the Rage Kitty. Though that Superman has horrible coloring.
Another reason to like Frank's Batman is because the costume is similar to early 00's "All-black". I think the OGN format was chosen because of the lessons they learned on All-Star. This way they get their money's worth from the high-profile writer they hired, in this case JMS. They still doing it wrong. When Marvel launched Ultimate, they went with up-and-coming writers that nobody knew at the time.

By having crazy marine Alfred? Lessons learned indeed.
Sadly this'll probably end up being just crap, as opposed to gloriously awful crap which is a special talent of Frank's.

Which Frank are we talking about?

Frank Miller is my guess.

I was talking about Gary Frank.
Anyway, DC also announced 2010's Superman Crossover, War of the Supermen, with this monstrosity.

I've been loving the recent run of Super-books, so I'll wait and see. But JG Jones seems to contracted a serious case of CTS.
DoctorFinger
12-08-2009, 09:35 AM
It's like JG Jones doing an Alex Ross imitation. Which is not really his strong suit. I'd rather the covers be more like the ones for 52.
muddi900
12-08-2009, 09:46 AM
That's what makes it so horrible. The 52 covers deserve to be in galleries.

Apparently DC is jumping on the renumbering bandwagon, Wonder Woman to be renumbered to 600:

To be fair though, it was a result of public demand.

Yeah Miller. I'm running on almost no sleep :p
And yeah, shit like Thor and Wonder Woman should have their proper numbering.
muddi900
12-08-2009, 12:12 PM
Well DC really had no plan to do it until a fan asked about it at comic-con. Even then they asked fans to send in post cards. I don't care, but apparently a lot of people do.
