Sports Announcers: Best/Worst

Who are your picks for best and worst announcers? Mine will be football heavy.

Best: Joe Buck, Tim McCarver, Troy Aikman, Chris Collinsworth
Worst: Brent Musberger, John Madden, Dick Vitale.

Also, if you had to choose ONE stadium to see a sporting event in, which one would it be, and for what team?

Best stadium: Michie Stadium, West Point, in the fall (the foliage/colors rock). Go Black Knights! :) Army football all the way! Doc Blanchard; Glenn Davis! Yeah!

They're not together anymore, but Dick Enberg and Dan Dierdorf on CBS were great. No 'boo-yah' crap, but great analysis and great chemistry.

For baseball I'll say McCarver. I know some people hate him, but he's as good a teacher of the game as there is.

And of course my personal favorites: Teddy Atlas & Joe Tessatore doing boxing for ESPN.

Gus Johnson is the best announcer EVER (http://sportsvids.blogspot.com/2007/03/ot-buzzer-beater-tip-in-by-david-lee.html).

The announcer I like the least is Joe Buck. He is just tooooo dry and sucks all the fun out of sporting events sometimes.

God, I miss Pat Summerall and John Madden commenting together.

Madden just being stupid ("They got a first down because they got some yards!") and Summerall just being completely drunk ("Yoooou're right, John. McNabb's looking awfully.......................................shar p."). Good times.

Watching Sunday Night Football tonight, I am reminded of how much I enjoy Chris Collingsworth and his insightful observations, and how happy I am that John Madden was out for the evening (I hope he's okay and feels better, but he just blathers on and on nowadays and has for years).

Edit: Apparently he was just taking a day off. Thanks for doing so, John! Take a few more days off!
