Yeah, that's right: Garry, creator of the inventive and highly successful Garry's Mod for Half-Life 2, is holding a contest to create a game through his new coding framework, Fretta. (http://frettacontest.facepunchstudios.com/)
Fretta is a framework which makes coding gamemodes in Garry's Mod quite a bit easier. Certain commonly requested features in mods are already coded - ready for use. This means that if you want to make a class based mod, you don't have to code that - it's already in - so you can get on with coding the stuff that makes your mod idea different
Perhaps the greatest thing about creating gamemodes in Garry's Mod, from my perspective, is that the game server that hosts Garry's Mod automatically provides everything that a player needs upon joining.
The contest ends in two months. Follow the link for more details. (http://frettacontest.facepunchstudios.com/) Garry's Mod is never more than $10, so I encourage anyone interested to have at it!
