Maybe this has been posted, but a COG network search yielded nothing.

Too bad it wasnt like this at launch, but hey.
Personally, im digging the training any beast to be a mount and .. well the mount that fights with you as you fight mounted on it.. pretty rad.
And the graphics are prettier.

In that section of before and afters from 00:35 onwards, I preferred the 'before' shot every single time. The game is certainly pretty, but it's not an art style that I'm fond of.
Saw it a couple of days ago, and i can't wait for the things to get ingame, i'm really looking forward to it.

It's sort of a generic style, yea, its not cartoony like WoW or.. dark like your Fallout 3's..but for immersive gameplay i think its pretty decent.

I was impressed by some of the massive monster / npc objects. I noticed that huge flying whale thing above Altgard the other day, and to my dismay, found that you cant actually get up to it.

Damn, my sub just ran out as I wasn't playing, but that's making me want to get back into it.

they dont have a release date, but its just gonna be a patch, not an expansion or anything. If you werent into it as is now, just wait and give it another try.
but you really need to get to level 10-13 or so before you judge the game - i hated it at first, it was just a generic korean grinder, but once i got to 10 and the characters started coming into their own, my impression changed. I'm not so interested in the flying, that doesnt impress me, but the combat is pretty fun and i see the game has a lot of potential to be a good competitor for WoW eventually. it'll never capture that huge market because its got double the system requirements wow does really, but still, its turning into a solid game.
I heard that they really werent prepared for the success of the game, so theyre sorta scrambling now to improve it. At least theyre trying tho.

haha thats my problem too. i'll get into an mmo and then something will come out for xbox or another pc game and i'll forget for a while. the problem is im an avid rpg gamer, i cant even think of one that ive missed.. those will kill yer mmo habit for weeks sometimes ;P

did they ever fix the gold seller chat spam? Last time I played, chat was pretty much unusable.

It was getting better before I left. All it took was to spend a few seconds right-clicking and ignoring the people posting colored stars as I logged in.

I played since launch for 2 months. I just got out of the game come level 15-16. I had zero quests and I had to grind. So I canceled my Sub.

that's about when I left, around 20 the only thing I had were elite quests in blackclaw and no groups.

Maybe they added some in then. When they released, there were a lot of people commenting that there were content gaps, one was at 20 and there were others later. Were you asmod, or elyos, I guess that could make a difference.

Asmod.
Maybe people werent looking in the right place ;)
Npcs who never had anything to say before will all of a sudden have half a dozen quests just cuz youre a couple levels higher.
If youve got no quests to do, just take a minute and take a stroll around the big cities and see what pops up.

Yeah, people got spoiled by WoW which always had an extremely well crafted progression for quests, leading you from group to group. In Aion you definitely have to explore a bit to find them all.

Exactly. like i said earlier, anyone who played everquest will likely find Aion more appealing than WoW.

Those giant golems around eight minutes in remind me quite a lot of the Rook from Demigod. Most of that trailer sure looks pretty, even if I can't stand the art style for the player characters.

could be worse, they could be like the dark elf looking class in Lineage 2 - when they run, they get all hunched over like theyre getting prison raped.
One thing i noticed about movement of characters in Aion is that its a sacrifice of customization of yer character. You can be MASSIVE or TINY. and they share the same bones structure for each. They actually did a really nice job of making your 2'5 character move as fluently as the 8'9 character (im making up numbers).
The small guys are hilarious, the sound of their feet cracks me up.
The big guys seem to be gliding because their strides are so long - but feels like youre moving slow, so i tend to play on the short side of things. Plus i think in PVP its a bit of an advantage - blend in better.
