I'm curious about something. In another thread there is talk about the widespread nature of WoW. I thought it'd be fun to see just how ubiquitous it is.
Edit: Crap, I forgot husband/wife. File those under boyfriend/girlfriend.

I've never played WoW, or any MMORPG.
Does that make me a bad PC Gamer?
I do personally know people that are into all kinds of MMO's, specially Aion which seems to be the current favorite.
Me, I just don't get it... >.>

Since the options the results reveal who voted for what, I think it would have been more tactful to have "My significant other(s)" instead of two boyfriend/girlfriend options.

I would have replaced BF/GF with significant other....people are married ya know :p
LOL, I totally skimmed over Lint's comment. And Keck has already edited his OP as well. I'm just gonna shut up now XD

Yeah, I kind of rushed the poll, so it wasn't as well crafted as I would have liked. Sorry about that. :o

I played, have several friends that do still play, and a few online people (mostly from here) that I know play.
When I played I was in a guild that had several married couples/siblings/children all playing together. It was like a large extended family.

"Friend's parents" would have been interesting for the list, but I just put them down under "My personal acquaintance".

Hmmmm, I agree.
It would be nice if you could edit polls. Of course, that would screw things up for everyone who has already voted. :(

Yep. It's true. My Mom plays WoW. She's a level 80 Holy Priest, and a level 80 Warlock.

A good number of my real life friends have or still are playing WoW, i've had a girl who played WoW and my brother does as well as a but load of online friends... i was talking with one of my best friends on facebook this morning about it being 5 years since wow came out. I still remember us going to a game shop in town to pick up pre orders to get beta keys and then going in to pick up our full games and just how excited about it we where. WoW is a very special thing, i may be calling dragon age the best game ever but it's only because WoW is just so much more than a game at this point heh

I played in the Beta, but I don't know anyone personally, who's paid a subscription fee.
I'm not counting anyone I know of on this site who plays, as we all know of at least a few people here who play.

Me and my brother play as well as 2 of my RL friends. I put online acquaintance too, since that's what you guys are and most of you have played it or still do.
My ex-girlfriend did too, but my current one does not.

I purchased the base game/Burning Crusade chest or whatever and played the free month, but I did not play past that so I didn't count myself. I know a handful of people personally who play, friends and friends of friends.

You missed the option for my aunt. Who is around 60. My head is still spinning.

Lots of my friends play. My uncle plays as well, there wasn't an option for that so I just put it under personal acquaintance.

I'm not happy to admit it but I got sucked it for a decent amount of time.

Tell me you aren't considering it, BK.

Just to point something out, no one on this site has checked "My Boyfriend" as of yet. Let this be a lesson, fellas. Not playing WoW also means having a relationship. Make your choice. ;)

Rest assured that I am not. I was just curious about how pervasive it actually is.

Pfft, I have a girlfriend! She's a level 1 Blood Elf Rogue who gave me a lapdance for just 10 gold! I think it's love!
