New Shooter 'Scivelation' Announced

Games are now officially art. How do I know this? Because developers are now citing, un-ironically, the works of "Orwell, Milton and Dante" when touting their upcoming games. Such is the pedigree given by Topware Interactive and the Black Wing Foundation to their upcoming shooter Scivelation.

Set shortly after the Earth is devastated by an apocalypse - a disaster triggered by religious zealots trying to bring about the End Times, so it's a sort of reverse Left Behind - this Unreal 3 powered shooter sees you rebelling against a repressive theocratic regime stamping down on what is left of humanity.

Scivelation is set for a Q3 2010 release on the PC and 360.

I didn't want to put this in the post, but damn does this game feel generic. Like a committee took all the shooter buzzwords, threw them together and this is the result.

Fantastic logic there. Bad name = bad game.

I'll keep an eye on this. It's far too early to make any kind of judgement on it (but don't let that stop you, guys) ;)
