Yeah, that was a lot of fun last night playing with you Cappin' even if I was only peripherally aware of you at times. :p We had some good teamwork even without voice chat I think (My mic battery was drained).

Reason I dropped last night was the game froze on me and I had to reset my PS3. By that time I figured I should go to bed because I needed to be up early today.

Also, is anyone actually gaining ranks? I've seen some players with ranks above 1, but every time a game finishes for me, I just see the points counted as negative and they just add up to 0 so I never gain anything and none of my stats are recorded. Is that supposed to be that way because it's a beta or is this a bug?

I'm still figuring out what in the world I'm doing, but I've enjoyed what little I've played so far. Couldn't promise I'd pick it up yet but I already like it much more than I did the first which is definitely a step in the right direction.

My PSN ID is Post_Script, and I'm hoping to be on for a few hours later tonight (I'm still downloading it now).

I do have a headset around here somewhere, Abyssion, but I had such a horrible time keeping it connected before that I've long since given up on that; hopefully that won't be a problem.

It's no problem if ya don't use it. I just would feel weird being the only one using a headset and talking if there isn't anyone else to talk to. (and by talk I mean cursing up a storm because people aren't going after the objective >_> *)

If I'm feeling productive this weekend, I might see if I can't get mine to stay connected for more than 30 seconds. Mind you, I don't have that official Sony one or anything like that; it's just some (I think) Motorola bluetooth one.

Also, it seems I'm a little rusty - I might try to improve my game before I burden my fellow CoGers. :D

I'm gonna hop on in a few minutes. I'm gonna give my headset a bit to charge up. I wouldn't worry about skill or not. I don't think I do half bad and I play FPS's maybe a few times a year. Of course I kinda rush in a lot and die a bunch...

Also my problem...well, that and the blasted snipers. Last time around (that is to say, in the first Bad Company), I had a lot of fun playing as a medic, but now I'm more or less stuck as recon just so I can have a fighting chance against those shaggy bastards.

What class do you guys tend to prefer, perhaps I can fill a need?

I spend most time as assault. Switch to recon semi-regularly and sometimes to engineer if no one else on the team seems to be taking anti-armour seriously. Barely even touched medic at this point.

I bounce around between assault, recon and medic. I am no good as an engineer. Can't get close enough to kill anyone. I tend to gravitate towards medics in these types of games. I like to be the guy who keeps everyone alive. :)

My best kill streaks have been as a sniper though. I usually switch to other classes if everyone is sniping though, just so it's not too stupid.

Yay, finally. I was on with fishbang and a friend last night, the wife got a bit wild with the microphone, so apologies to him for putting up with her. I have a mic too and it`s gtg.

wow. actually hated playing a console fps. the game looks nice but i didn't like anything about the gameplay/control. Will be going with PC for this one.

No doubting that. I hate console FPSs as well, but I need something until this game comes out. TF2 won`t fix my modern shooter itch.

I would play this on my PC if I could be sure I'd be able to run it smoothly. Not so certain at this point and I won't have time to build a new PC like I want to for at least a few months after it comes out.

Hey, sorry to anyone that might have tried to play a round with me earlier. I took someone to see New Moon tonight, and I got back to find my younger brother had mucked about with my systems when he stopped by to borrow some Wii games. Chances are, he just played GTA IV (which was in), but just in case... :o

I got disconnected somehow in the middle of a game, and it reset all my stats. Straight bank to rank 1, no unlocks, nothing. All I have are the dogtags I've collected.

Fucking hell. I was like rank 15 already or some shit, damnit! :mad:

I've really been enjoying this so far, I know a group of friends here who are picking it up for the PS3 even, and so far we have played a few games together. Playing as a Medic is great fun too for me. To crawl out into gunfire to bring someone back to life is great, and watching my points climb as folks gather around my med kits on the ground is fun too.

I had 231 kills, and like 10 unlocks... :(

Sucks to now play against people who are level 20 and up, with all kinds of different guns.

You're talking about physical stores, or? Just grab a list of Gamestops in your city, call them, then rush when you find one with codes left. Preorder, get the code, and cancel before release. Or you can just keep an eye on Fileplanet and other places; they have all been giving away codes fairly frequently.

Edit: Nm on Fileplanet, I haven't seen any updates recently. I bet there will be more though.

My stats are still there, which is neat. I have spotted an anomoly in my rewards though... I have the 'Distinguished Marksman Combat' insignia which says "In a round, do 10 headshots", but I do not have the "Marksman Pin" which is "In a round, do 4 headshots".

Also for "Squad Surveillence Ops" insignia I have 56/50, but I have not received it.

EDIT: It looks like the insignia's are pretty broken all around.

I believe the friends list in BC2 shows everyone on your PSN friends list that is online, regardless of whether they're playing BC2 or not. If you try to play with people who aren't playing BC2 then nothing happens.

i had the most fun today running around as recon with the thompson machine gun trowing motion sensors and flanking people ;)
c4 also is more easy to use when you are running around in the middle of the action instead of sitting on a roof or hill or in a bush ^^

I didn't have any trouble the first time I tried it, but I think that was also the only time...

well i am in the NA beta, but i'm pretty sure i play on european servers.
if people talk, they usually dont talk in english and i dont experience any lag
so i guess the game itself sorts out where you play not the key

I picked up a second job at my theater for the holidays, so I haven't had a single free minute to play since Saturday. I miss my new TV and the large stack of under-played games beside it, and I plan to spend nearly every minute of Thanksgiving making up for lost time.

to clarify i hate THIS console fps. i really liked the first BC - had it on ps3, but BC2 I can't stand. Maybe its just because its a beta but I'd most likely get this on pc.

having a blast with MW2 on ps3 now, deleted the BC2 beta after a round.

/agree 100%. Luckily, Dice made their bones on PC FPS, they are concentrating heavily on it still. There's very little chance they'll screw the PC version up. They're still heavily PC focused with the info coming out on BF3. Plus having their PC dev team work on the PC version makes me fairly certain of quality.

I hate console shooters as well, I am only playing the ps3 beta because there is no PC beta. I can't believe how much I am enjoying it. It is the aiming, but I couldn't begin to explain why I like it compared to others.
