Blu-Ray Player

I need a good Blu-Ray player to get my parents for Christmas, anyone had any experience with non-PS3 players?

This Panasonic player looks to have gotten the best reviews with the fewest number of people complaining about firmware bricking it, etc.

Then there's the Samsung 1600 which has Netflix support (they don't have Netflix now but it's a possibility in the future), but I've been seeing a bunch of reviews with bricking, loud noises, etc.

I got my parents that Samsung one refurbished for $99 bucks on a recent deal. Blu-ray 2.0 and Netflix support. It was a great price. Just wait for black friday deals. I'm sure Blu-ray players will be under the $100 mark this year.

Ended up going with the Panasonic DMP-BD60 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B001V9LA44/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance). Had some nice reviews (http://www.hometheatermag.com/discplayers/panasonic_dmp-bd60_blu-ray_player/) and Amazon had a special that included UP with it for free. Sold!

Edit: On a side note, this whole Amazon Prime program is a big scam. I just signed up for the free trial, and now every time I see a deal I'm remotely interested in, I remember that I have free shipping and it's a quick impulse buy. Damn them!
