I think they did that because the game takes place in the 50's. It's an odd perspective thing.

I pre-ordered from there for my beta code. For LBP too. The store in the mall by me isn't really all that bad. Hell, when I put in my pre-order I had my almost 2 year old son with me and they gave him one of the little stuffed cows from the Harvest Moon pre-orders for no reason other than that he's a cute kid.

That was a surprisingly good trailer. I think the music was a good choice. I'm even more excited about this now. I was starting to forget about it for awhile because I'm anticipating the release of too many other games.

I have this feeling that, from now on, I'm going to start thinking about Resistance 2 every time I drive on the Bay Bridge.

R2 is a game you may end up wanting to keep if you like co-op. I can't speak for the competitive multiplayer as I haven't tried it (and may not at all), but the co-op looks like it's going to be a feature people are playing for a while. It has a nice level up system with three character classes where everything productive you do earns you xp and and "Grey Tech" that you can use to upgrade skills and gear.

And at least with the co-op, this isn't the kind of game where people can just go off and do their own thing, if you don't work with your team, you're dead. Teamwork is there even if not everyone has a headset. Personally, I can't wait to organize some co-op games with people around here once this comes out.

I thought R1's single player was pretty boring but I'm mostly wanting to check out this for all the multiplayer stuff. Gamefly does have a "keep it now" option too if it turns out to be really good. I don't think any of my other PSN friends are going to pick this one up. Most of them are going to be playing LBP. With Gears 2 and COD5 this year, I'll try to make time for this one but I'm afraid when I have time to dedicate to it, Killzone 2 will be out.

Sony really didn't think this one through putting R2 and Killzone 2 so close together and also with COD5 coming out for the system... I think R2 is going to suffer when it really shouldn't have to.

Huh? Killzone 2 probably won't be out for another 4-6 months, I doubt they're going to effect eachother all that much. Heck, I know I for one don't even care about KZ2. The co-op really sets R2 apart from the other games you've mentioned, at least those coming out this Fall. There's nothing else like that out there.

What classes have you tried? I've only done Medic, but I had a very good time with it.
